Even if the backpacker owner is nice, beds wasn't done and the common sanitaries were very dirty. The night rate is ok but I was very disappointed by the place. A wierd guy had to cross our room everytime he had to leave his room which was very annoying!!

Appreciate your feedback and compliment. You are right, this is not about us but about you - our guests. We've strived to provide a nice clean safe and secure environment for the backpackers visiting Dallas- Fort Worth for over 7 years. However, You surprised us some by choosing to stick with the other 3 guys in your company and not to go into the girls dorm, liked you had booked .... and yes, there was an English Professor who needed to get to his conference on time and was getting up and leaving around 6am We don't see anything weird with that. Our cleaning lady cleans on Fridays and takes off weekends but if you've mentioned to a staff member you have a particular problem, we'd have gladly call her in or take care of the problem ourselves. Thanks for your comment.... Our location is in Historic Downtown Irving and close to public transport which gives the regular backpacker access to the entire DFW area. To someone with a car, like yourself, who shows up just to save money our location could be 'skethcy' .... We are also within 5 minutes walk to several supermarkets, several banks and several local and national restaurants ... Area is safe and New construction investments are on their way .. Finally, staff is available to check you in, answer your questions and provide information about what to do and how to get there ... but not simply to hang out. Ivan Ivanov, Mgr , Dallas Backpackers

A great hostel. All facilities included in price, free washing is definitly a bonus facility for backpackers. Great kitchen and lounge (including the excessivley sized TV). Although the staff are not at the hostel all the time, Ivan is a great host and very informative about the local area.

it was okay but not a a lot of food chioces in the area is mainly a mexican area in irving i met some people there who was staying there with me and it was nice talking to people and meeting other people from different parts of the world it was nice

We are located in Historic Downtown Irving which is an up and coming area, with plenty of history spots to visit, parks to jog into, best Texas library and mainly - a major public transport hub - all within walking distance of our location. (i.e - 10 minutes or less walk). As far as food choices - both McDonalds and Burger King invested over $2mln each for brand new restaurants - less than 2 minutes walk from our location - and on your way to the Public Transport Station. In addition there is a Great - All You Can Eat - Brazilian Restaurant - 5 min walk from hostel. There's also Joe's Cafe - a typical American/Texan Diner, which we recommend to everyone of our visitors - 5 min walk.... And that's before we start listing the almost 10 Mexican joints around the area and a few smaller restaurants which cater to every taste. Finally, we have 4 Huge supermarkets within 5-10 minutes walk, which most backpackers take advantage of and cook for themselves .... .... Anyhow, you could have paid attention and read all that information on the wall right by the main entrance. Or you could have asked about our food/restaurant recommendations .... where to start... i arrived at the hostel and immediatly thought the taxi driver had the wrong house. the house looked run down it didnt even look like any1 lived there. we went to the door and it said call the number below for assistance (there is no reception it is some mans house) he answered and said he will be 2-3 hours go on ahead inside and find any spare bed and ill check you in when i arrive. we asked where we get a key and he said the door is open (strange). we go in and the house is m

We have been in business for seven years and still counting. There were two of you and seems like our place worked out just fine for you. You were able to sleep, use the internet, shower and see the attractions Dallas Fort Worth has to offer. We are not in business to offer five star accommodation. We offer everything a backpacker or a budget traveler needs for $25/nite ... If anyone is interested in 5star accommodation its just down the street at 200/ nite. Also, btw there are 5 categories in total ... Make sure you mention something for each one of these if you are going to give us a low/ lowest rating ..:... Like you did Ivan Ivanov , Manager

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Very laid back hostel. Carlos is the nicest host imaginable! He goes to great lengths to make sure you have a good stay. The hostel is located in the middle of Dallas and Fort Worth, and you can easily go both places with public transportation.

We had a great stay here! Carlos the manager is extremely nice and drove us around if we wanted to or picked us up if we gave him a call. He has a great personality and took us to some really cool places that we had to check out. The location is okay but having a rental car makes it a lot more fun! But don't let that be a reason not to come!! We met some great people here and had an amazing time. There are a lot of free extras which come in very handy (towels, phone, laundry, maps etc). Just go!

Quite interesting hostels, makes you feel like you're at home. But it's in Irving, not Dallas, so you have to relay on public transportation, that doesn't really go that often...
