i wasted my money on this hotel. plz mind before you book this hotel, this is not a HOTEL! the only good thing is its location. to be honesty, its location was perfect! really near to the station! but that's all. and also there are a lot of better hostel or hotel with the similar distance. there is no sign about 'Dam Hotel', so you should ask people especially waiter. i will never go here again. i know they have copy of my passport, but i think i should talk honestly to other people. thanks :)

Overall this hostel is good and the staff over there are very helpful and friendly. However the 4% bank commission is not very worthy as the price for rooms is already quite high comparing to the room conditions and facilities provided. So it is much wiser to pay by cash or fully paid upon booking.

bathroom facilities are not good: not convenient and impossible to keep clean considering number of people per facility the quality level would be ok anyway if it weren't for the price --> it should be a lot cheaper considering the low standard

The staff was VERY nice! The "hotel" is more a hostel for bagpackers and you should not expect too much. Meaning that you will NOT get a good view or a very fency place to stay but for amsterdam it is a quite cheap opportunity to stay. Furthermore it is located at the very city center and only 5 minutes walking distance from the main train station. I felt better taking my sleeping bag with me because of previous bad comments but all in all it was clean and quite ok since I was there for the city

This hostel has bed bugs and I was miserable all week. I went to complain, they took no responsibility claiming that I probably ate seafood and had an allergic reaction. I stay in a lot of hotels and hostels and I was very upset by the fact that they had bugs and then did not even give me a refund for my stay.

Room was a disgrace. The night security was asleep when we came in, very secure for two girls staying there. There were no facilities at all, the bathroom was awful, tiles falling off the wall, toilet didnt work. Asked for clean towels, never got them.

The room was infested by flies or bed bugs.

Way overpriced, not very clean, tiny rooms, terrible bed, windows pointing to a restaurant kitchen. A "don't go" for sure.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Never have I stayed at a worse hostel than this. BE WARNED: the staff are the rudest, least genuine and the biggest rip off people I've ever experienced. There are so many hostels in Dam for way better value for money. This hostel will try getting every penny out of you before you leave. if you have no option but to stay here read all of your booking details carefully because I noticed a trend in them getting money off their guests through iffy details in their policy.
