Not the greatest hostel. Good location but only one bathroom facility per room of 10 people and doesn't have that good hostel atmosphere. We only stayed here for 1 night last minute.

Location is the best!!! Just a few minutes walk from Amsterdam Central station and Dam Square as well. Close from everywhere such as Red Light district, canal tour, and so on. A lot of places to eat nearby. 6 beds dorm is on top floor (4th floor) and it was tough to carry luggages there. Staircases are super narrow!!! Room and bathrooms were clean and decent, however it's a bit overpriced I felt... but here is Amsterdam so it should be...

Excellent location, not too difficult to find and an enjoyable stay. Clean towels and beds made every day, bathroom and shower were perfect- very clean! Noise was a bit annoying as the room (107) is right next to the door leading from reception, woke me up several times but did not bother my companion at all. 90 euros was taken from my account before the stay (which I was not aware of) and I was told would not be returned until at least 12 days after the visit.

Door to room slammed extremely loudly, in room of 9 lead to little sleep, AC unit but didn't work. Overall appearance run down, only good factors were decent bathroom and good location. Otherwise was largely overpriced.

Solid hostel. Hostels in Amsterdam are always going to be a bit smaller and more expensive than in other cities. I felt that this one was clean, easy to get to, and comfortable. Wi-Fi is a bit spotty, especially in rooms, but otherwise was a decent place to stay.

Great location (note that they are now called Tulip something, rather small sign outside) Had a 6 bed room, bathroom with shower with the room, soap and shampoo there for your use. No safe or lockable cabinet in the room is a minus. No common area, so not the best place to meet backpackers, but hey, it's Amsterdam... Go to a coffee shop and talk to people! Overall worth my money for a short stay in an awesome location!

Overall a good stay! Great location right by central station and near all the main attractions. Rooms are clean and spacious, as was my bathroom. No common room though. Helpful staff at reception. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome location, the Damhotel was a great hotel to stay at. There is not really any way to meet other travelers outside of meeting them inside your room. It would be nice if they had organized a pub crawl or cafe crawl to meet other travelers on.

Excellent location but the facilities could be better and the shower wasn't very clean

Decent hostel in the heart of central Amsterdam. Right next to the train station (Amsterdam Centraal), so good location if you want to be in the touristy hotspot. No air conditioning, which made for a rough few summer nights. Room and in-room bathroom/shower were clean, but no lounge areas or facilities.

Overall I was happy with the hostel and would stay their again! You are pretty much paying for the location, right by the trainstation and right opposite the red light district. That being said the rooms were nice and clean but a little small is all, not bad at all. One problem was the stairs are very steep, and being on the top floor was a pain. Although having been in other hostels in Amsterdam many seem to have this problem.

Had no common room so it was kind of hard to meet people there. Helpful staff att the reception and the location is great, just 5 minutes from the train station.

The wifi does not work properly in the rooms, and the window of the room broke when we tried to open it.

The staff here were great - one of us needed to get a delivery and got it without hassle, which was hugely helpful. The rooms are wanting for plugs, lockers and decent WiFi, but are otherwise spacious and comfy. The third floor toilet didn't have a sink. The location is fantastic but be warned as on some nights this results in a hefty price tag.

The lady who introduced us to the Hostel was very friendly and helpful. The location is great, our room had good views and was in walking distance to the main streets, bars and the canals further out. Our room was mostly people who were in Amsterdam for drugs - some seemed to be on them - but I guess its Amsterdam after all.

Damhotel it's not the best hostel in the world but it's not that bad. The hostel is really close to the central station, and since Amsterdam it's a small city you can walk to everywhere. They don't have common area to hang out, neither kitchen. The rooms are clean and they give you towels, bedlinen and body gel, so one can complain about that. Most of the staff is really nice, except for a guy who is in the reception by night, he's a little bit rude.

I stayed in a 6 bed dorm for a few nights and the rooms are very tiny. No space for stuff, just beds. Toilet and shower were a joke. The shower and toilet very so small you can barely turn yourself around there. And no sinks to wash your hands in. Location is perfect and they give you clean towels everyday.

The place is dry and depressing. The rooms are ok but there are not enough plugs. The guy on the desk was just a drag and there is no communal area so you're forced out into the street. It's close to the station and they supply towels but apart from that it's bobbins.

Pretty run down place and very small but of course prime location so a huge price...could use some little touching up but has the basics and is a place to sleep and right by everything. Quiet suprisingly and felt safe. Would go back but would want to try another place first.
