Dancing Elephant Hostel Reviews

There are a lot of Hostels that make up for poor facilites by charm and character and also the Dancing Elephant has a lot of both, the facilites are just very poor and the fact that you have to stay there at least 5 nights makes it even worse. But if you want to stay in Haadrin, it's probably the best option. So I would recommend to stay in the Hostel, but I would not recommend to stay in Haadrin. If you want to go to the Full Moon Party stay somewhere else on the island and take a taxi!!!

Great hostel with really helpful staff and good location. I stayed here for the full moon party and the atmosphere was awesome.

This hostel made our full moon party an awesome one. The street bar and body paint before heading to the party beach was some of the funnest time we had in Ko Phangnan. The facilities are very clean. The staff will help you out with absolutely anything you need (they were able to get me cash when my bank card was not working). THANK YOU

Really enjoyed my stay at the Dancing Elephant. Clean rooms, very private beds, excellent atmosphere. The owner, David, and his wife, Nanda were very helpful and extremely kind. There is a restaurant next door that serves great food and staying at the Dancing Elephant gives you a discount for the restaurant and all of the other shops on that street. It's just a 2-5 minute walk to any of the 3 beaches in the area. If I ever go back to Koh Phangan, I'll definitely stay there again!

I stayed at this hostel for 4 days I could have happily stayed for a lot longer. The dancing elephant is the nicest hostel ive stayed in while touring Thailand. I can't wait to come back for the full moon :) thank you David for the hospitality, you and your staff were fantastic!!

We had a really great time there with the nice staff and great guess people! You will have lot of fun, meet great people, excellent location and the most important thing: you will feel safe, because the owner (David) will help you with any trouble you have. Enjoy!

This hostel is great!! From the second u get there, u feel personally welcomed and looked after. David takes the time to speak to everybody and give great tips about the Island. There is a lovely family feel to the hostels and everyone gets together on the streets outside for pre-drinks. Theres even disco lights in the common room to get the party started, and David always helps u out when you're trying to get somewhere. Heading back to Koh Phangan again in a week and going to stay here!!

What a Great hostel ,definately going to return . David the owner was great , could not have been more helpful, always happy and there to help . You get a wrist band on arrival which gives u discount in some of the restaurants and shops in the area. Very impressed and would definately recommend staying there.

I had an amazing stay at the dancing elephant. All that I could have wished for was taken care of, facilities amazing, and david and his family were great people. David also recommended a tattoo artist to me, who did an amazing piece on my foot, thank you!!

The place is great for having a fun time and meeting people - David goes out of his way to ensure everyone is safe and has a good time. It's located on a party street about 5 minutes walk from the full moon beach. Great hostel!

When I arrived at Dancing Elephant there was a total feeling of relief that I had chosen the right place. The welcome by David the owner was one that I had not experienced anywhere else at any other hostel. It made me feel like part of the family from the first minute and then it felt like home for the whole time I was there. I wanna say thanks to David and the crew for a great time and I will definately come back next time i'm in Haad Rin.

Best hostel! 5 min walk to the beach, great people staying there, really good facilities and the host David is the best!

Ill get right to the point. If you want to have a good time and be close to the party but far enough away you can still sleep this is the place. One kind of bad thing i can say is no private rooms. But for a backpacker looking to meet people its perfect. David and his wife are very hospitable. Also he is a wealth of information. Things to do and things not to do. As well as discounted rates on things around the island. Will i go back to the full moon party and stay at the dancing elephant.? YES!

The dancing elephant was a great place to stay for the full moon party! the atmosphere was fantastic and everbody was crazy friendly and ready to party with whomever came through the door. David the owner was great and made the place super fun but at the same time his top most priorites was that his guests stay safe. he has all the insights to the best paces to go on the island and i highly suggest you take hs reccomendations! i had a great week at the dnacing elephant and will definitely return

This place is epic!!! right in the middel of all the fun david and his staff are well layed back and really friendly too! lovely bit of aircon to go with it so we arnt sweety meeses all the time:) If you wanna meet people and go wild or just have a well good time get involved with this hostel you will not be disapointed!!!!

Dancing Elephant was nothing short of amazing. It is located in the heart of Haat Rin, and a 5 minute walk from the beach. The street its on is filled with other dorm hostels and its not unusual to see a street party develop during the peak times of the year (i.e. around moon parties). David and his staff were very accommodating and helpful and David makes sure that his guests stay safe and he genuinely cares about their well-being. I'll be sure to stay here if/when I return to Kho Phangan!
