There was no door on our room, only a curtain. A couple staying in a different room was extremely loud at 2am, and we heard everything because of the lack of doors. The hostess only spoke French. On the bright-side, the hostess arranged for a driver from the train station to the lodging which was a necessity because it would have been impossible to otherwise find the place.

An awesome place to stay. Not really a hostel though, felt a lot more like a home stay. Not a place to meet other travellers. The woman who own this place was extremely nice and helpful. Just wish we spoke more french so we could have communicated more. Her son own the carpet shop next door, and he speaks fluent english. He was extremely helpful with everything, checking and sorting out transport for us and told us about all sights worth visiting. Recommend this place warmly
The Filali family invites you into their home in the Fes medina, near the Carouine mosque and tanneries. More like a home-stay than a hotel, but the cultural experience is unbeatable. Mme Filali does not speak much english, so a conversational level of French will make your stay easier. Includes breakfast with fresh fruits and local yogurt. Bed is comfortable and showers are hot, but rooms may be chilly in winter. They can arrange airport drop off in case you're taking an early flight.
