One of the best places we ever stayed! A hidden Fez treasure--tucked into a side street of the labyrinthine Medina, you probably want to take Steve up on the offer to have a guide pick you up from the station and lead you there (Googlemaps hasn't figured out how to chart it yet). Mohammed welcomed us with refreshments in the gorgeous lounge of the riad and even arranged our wonderful day tour of Fez the next day. Awesome roof terrace and banquet breakfast. Definitely felt like royalty!

We loved staying at Dar Houdou as our welcome to Morocco on our first night in the country. The riad was beautifully decorated with an eclectic mix of classic Moroccan and Western art. We enjoyed talking to the house manager, Mohammed, who helped us plan our itinerary for Fes. Most of all we appreciated the delicious breakfast with fresh brewed coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice and the impeccable cleanliness of the riad!

Abolutely recommendable! The owner was very kind, helpful and thankfully unobtrusive, which was so pleasant for us in that lovely but busy medina. Breakfast was great and there is also a kitchen with tea and stuff you can use. Cleaned every day. Very central in the medina, five minutes to Bab Bouljoud (blue gate), so you are out quickly if you want to (to buses, taxis, Ville Nouvelle), good restaurants nearby. It is between the two main streets of the medina in a very quiet street. A cozy place!

A very clean, and well run hostel. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. In a good area of Fes. Very much enjoyed our stay, and it probably was the cleanest place we've stayed so far!

Fantastic hostel. Only downer was the guide booked through the hostel. She was lovely the first half and then in the second half where she pretty much took us shopping, she wasn't very happy as we weren't buying anything. Assume she normally makes a commission? At the end she made a deal out of the agreed price (that was set at the beginning with the hostel) saying the standards had all changed and wanting more. So if you take a guide then make sure their official and confirm the price.
