Dar Houdou was by far the best accommodation I had for my entire trip around Morocco staying in 8 different cities. The owner, Steve, is an absolute gem, going out of his way to make sure you have the best stay in town possible. He was pretty much our personal tour guide recommending sights, eateries and excursions across towns, and other places we should check out in Morocco (Fez was our first stop). The location, breakfast, room size, amenities, service & overall experience was all 5star!

Although we never met Steve because he was in England, Mohammed did a great job and he made us feel at home. Thanks a lot!

Dar Houdou was great. Steve (owner) and Mohammad (staff member) were both very helpful, nice and insightful. With only 3 rooms for 2, Dar Houdou was quiet and relaxing. Many of the other hostels that I stayed at (like Dar Hafsa) fit many more guests and as a result were much louder. Steve also helped us with any services we needed. He connected us with a great guide. Unlike most hostels in the area, he does not get a cut if we book activities through him so his recommendations werent skewed

We absolutely loved our stay at Dar Houdou. The location is great and guesthouse has recently been restored. The rooms are a good size with ensuite bathrooms and the whole place is absolutely spotless. It also had lots of the home comforts missing in other riads - hot water (all day), heater, hairdryer, wifi etc and they served up a feast of a breakfast too! Steve the owner and his staff are welcoming and accommodating. Dar Houdou is fantastic value for money and we’d definitely recommend it

Our stay at Dar Houdou was fantastic. The property has been beautifully restored and the terrace is a great place to chill out to get away from the madness of the medina. It was spotlessly clean and the free breakfast is amazing. Steve the owner really made us feel at home and went out if his way to show us the best places to eat and told us about all the must see sites. The location is perfect, just between the the two main streets and only a few minutes walk from the blue gate. We'd stay again

This is a charming little gem of a Riad! It is perfectly located just a few streets away from the main market streets, so it is not noisy but is close to everything. It is a small place, so don't come here looking for a party - with that said, it made a perfect place to stay for us - great character and very personal! Delicious breakfast and great owner, Steve is very helpful!

The manager at Dar Houdou was extremely nice and helpful. He organized tours for us around Fez and to Meknes. It is the cleanest place we saw in Morocco and had the best breakfast. Dar Houdou was very peaceful and a wonderful oasis in the crazy Fez medina. Every place we have stayed at since has paled in comparison.

Exelent place to stay if You are in Fez. Clean, friendly atmosphere, perfect breakfast, WiFi. For a small amout of money thay can meet You at a railway station or airport and guide You to hostel. Beleve me without this guide You are lost in Medina. Use this facility.

One of the best places we ever stayed! A hidden Fez treasure--tucked into a side street of the labyrinthine Medina, you probably want to take Steve up on the offer to have a guide pick you up from the station and lead you there (Googlemaps hasn't figured out how to chart it yet). Mohammed welcomed us with refreshments in the gorgeous lounge of the riad and even arranged our wonderful day tour of Fez the next day. Awesome roof terrace and banquet breakfast. Definitely felt like royalty!
