Very friendly staff and good breakfast. We were in a poorly lit room with a lot of noise outside. The area is hectic and on the dodgy side, but 20 minutes walk from the main square. If you want to see how the real inhabitants of Marrakech live and are happy with the noise, this is the est place and it's very good value. If you want a place the place to relax and be quiet, it's not the best.be

This was a complete mess. The owner had double booked our room and when we got there she quickly ushered off to another hostel without even explaining to us what had happened. Right from the beginning we had trouble with this booking and despite emails to Hostelworld before our departure complaining about a problem with our booking nothing was done. Still to now we have not received any communications from Hostelworld. Very poor service.

There were a few problems related to rooms and facilities, as the air-conditioning. However, the owner, Mrs Sabha always looked forward to solve them rapidly. Breakfast is pretty poor. No fruit or even juice at all, but the owner was really kind to offer us breakfast earlier than the determined time because of our trip to the desert. We had asked for the airport pickup and delivery none was given.

We stayed in Dar Salam for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip and it was fine. It was easy to find using the directions from the hostel, although not many of the taxi drivers have heard of it, and a short walk to the main square. The rooms are cool and well furnished, although the pillows were like rocks. Nice bathroom and hot water , and a yummy breakfast awaits you in the morning. There is also a roof terrace which is nice with views over the city. Not very quiet but the family are friendly

We stayed for 3 nights at Dar Salam and had a decent experience. Warning for non-french and non-arabic speakers: the staff do not speak english (or spanish) very well. Saba (I think this is the name of the owner) was very kind but not very helpful, I think due to the language barrier. She was not very informative on where to go out, what to see, where to eat, how to get there, etc. Otherwise, the room was nice, the breakfast was good, and the facilities worked well.

Very familiar and cosy. Really felt like an oasis when we returned from the Medina . the staff was very thoughtful and the breakfast was good. Very good value for money.

We felt like home with the hospitality of the owner! She was always ready to help us in what we need!

The owner is very friendly and helpful (by far the best we met in Morocco). We had two rooms that just were built on the roof with a nice terrace, although chilly without the heater switched on. About 20 min from the central square and 10 from the main souks through varied Medina area. At one of the main streets. This is noisy during the day, but didn't affect our sleep during the night. You clearly hear the call for prayers and the roosters in the early morning, but that adds to the atmosphere

When we arrived we were sent to another riad, near Dar Salam, because it was overbooked. The atmosphere was fascinating and very typical, but not fully supported by appropriate services; for example, we had to pay for a heater (there was no heating system) and for a used Marrakech map indeed. We are not unsatisfied but probably there would have been better places to stay, at the same price.

We had an excellent stay at Dar Salam. It was a beautiful little place with a lot of local charm. Our host was very welcoming and genuine, and tried her best to ensure we had a comfortable stay. We had to leave early the next morning so we would miss breakfast, so she specially made us an early breakfast and even gave us some food to take away. Though centrally located, as is everything in the medina, the hostel was a bit hard to find, but they do offer an affordable ariport pickup.

Riad is located 20 minutes from the square. Staff is not very welcoming however the exception is the cook! We had an issue with the tour we booked to Ouazarzate which we overpayed however after discussing it with the Riad manager we received a partial refund for few points which we were told were included in the price, but weren't. Make sure to request a tour plan!

We stayed in the blue nomads room. The room was very dusty and we could clearly hear the noise in the streets until very late at night. The first day the water in the shower plate was blocked but this was solved by the staff the following day.

It was very difficult to find the hostel arriving during the night, the short street is small and dark. The hotel is nice, clean and the breakfast is good.
