Fawlty towers certainly springs to mind except without the amusing owners. The owners were absent and it was being run by a young girl and a resident. If you have any problems you can speak to the owners on the phone. That said, the view towards the river is lovely and the staff did their best. Rooms could do with a clean. Rant over.

Really nice place to stay! One of my favorite in Asia. I liked the big balcony with the amazing view. The beds in dorms are huge! Darling and Peter made me feel like at home! You must go there.

Was supposed to stay for 3 days but stayed a week!! Best place ever. Lovely staff, amazing communal area (campfire, pool, projector for big film viewings, sound system). Darling or Peter will pick you up from the bus stop and drop you back. Our room had an amazing view over Pai and was absolutely huge (2 double beds). We wish we could've stayed longer. Thank you both, we won't forget our time in Pai :D Tip: Rent a motorbike and hit Lod cave and the "secret" natural hotsprings!!!

Seriously the best place I've ever stayed. Darling (the owner) is truly a gem. She is so welcoming and has such a a great vibe and spirit. The views out from Darling viewpoint are astounding. The atmosphere is spectacular at night the bonfire and music playing is so much fun. Darling and Peter make a great team and have really made a place that makes you feel like home. I had met several travelers and they all ended up following me to Darling View Point. I would recommend this place to everyone.

The views from our bungalow were spectacular and probably the best you'll find in Pai. the guesthouse owners Peter and Darling are the sweetest couple who could not do enough for you. They made our stay so special. We were picked up by them when we arrived at the AYA service depot in their very large, red truck. On arrival Peter went through where to hire a moped, where to go and what to see. We planned to stay 3 nights and ended up staying a week! We will return.

Fantastic choice - once I found it. Tried to take the shortcut first time there at night. Wasn't a good idea. Maybe the Hostelworld booking webpage/email can give walking directions with timing. And recommend against shortcut at night on first attempt. The owners are very accommodating, and the teak buildings are a real Thai experience. Tons of room as well.

Nice hostel with helpful staff and excellent location overlooking Pai. Bonfire each night was a nice touch. The manager let us use the barbecue too.

The room was advertised with hot water and AC but we didn't have either. The room was noisy and seemed past its prime. It might be a good value for a solo traveler but not for a shared room. We also has long and awkward waits to check in and out.

Owner Comment (Show)
please refer to the link Facilities http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Darling-View-Point-Bungalows/Pai/26635#facilities and we see Ceiling Fan (Dorm 200.- B.-) . Dorm Room it self are not noisy? All showers are equipped with a safety check button (if you press, the power goes off = cold shower) , Darling View Point have in all rooms Safety Cut Systems ) . I had no complains even from this customer about Hot shower problems at this time . May the dry season give us a lot of dust , and we are not able to keep the dust out in an open area . Sorry for all this discomfort and we try faster to check out .

The staying here was fabulous. I was supposed to stay there 2 days and I stayed 5. Darling and Peter excedeed all the expectations to make us feel confortable and at home. The place is great, the views are magnificent, the facilities are amazing to seat at the end of the day and relax (in one of the several hammocks hanging there, or in one of the reclining bambu chairs, or lying down in one of the matresses... But most of all the kindness, the friendly approach and the smiles of the owners...

Great place! Had an awesome bonfire going every night where everyone came to hang out and play music (guitar, ukulele, banjo and an amazing saxophone player were all part of the mix the weekend I was there). Just out of the way enough to be peaceful but a quick 5 minute walk to downtown Pai. Really wonderful owners and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The place was set up on a hill and provided a great view of the countryside. The room was basic, but clean and large. We were out and about most of the time, but it was an easy place to catch sleep.

One of the best places I've stayed at! Clean rooms, beautiful view and the staff make visitors feel like family. It's also only a short walk into town (5 minutes), but just out of the way enough that it's peaceful at night.

cool rustic spot away from the tourist strip, definitely in nature. a bit of a walk so be aware, but totally fine. great big deck with hammocks and view, perfect for chilling. rooms fine, bathrooms fine.

Highly recommended! The bamboo bridge people have been speaking about in earlier reviews is fixed, so it's only 5 minutes walk into town down a dirtroad, which works fine. The view from the balcony is stunning, especially when you're seeing in while lying in one of the hammocks. Beds are amazing, you get a double matress all to yourself, so I've been sleeping like a baby (and like a starfish). Staff's very fiendly and helpful!
