The beach was beautiful and I loved that there was a pool! We had to get help to turn on the AC in our room, but after that it worked wonderfully. Wish we'd gotten there early enough in the day to take advantage of the scuba diving. The only downside was the distance from downtown Aqaba. But overall a pleasant, if short, stay.

The hostel's location is great, right opposite the beach, and the room itself is comfortable and overall good value. However, the toilet didn't work and there was no hot water in the shower. On top of that, the staff were rather unfriendly or certain aloof, and there were discrepancies as to the price of snorkelling trips and snorkel/fin hire. Food also pretty good, although the Bedouin-style dinner was fairly bland. Overall, though, a decent-value place to stay in an excellent location.

Nice and quiet place with swimming pool and 100 m to the beach.

It was really a good experience to stay at Darna Village, also for me as a female single traveller. The view is amazing, it is just 20 m from the beach that admittedly is not in the best condition (not very clean), but very close to the shore you find tons of beautiful corals to snorkel in (equipment 5JD/day). The rooms are okay and definitely great for the money, and the staff very helpful. Only advise you don't get there: If you want to go to Petra by bus, you have to stay there for the night.

Communication with the various hostelworkers proved to be rather confusing. We received different quotes on day trips from different employees,a taxi was confirmed for us the night before our departure and the following morning another hostelworker appeared to have no idea that we had ordered a taxi. Food is disgracefully expensive and staff are particularly difficult to identify, sometimes sleazy and one does not feel like a "guest". The rooms and pool are great and breakfast is not great.

We enjoyed our stay at Darna Village. The staff were very helpful and entertaining. The hotel is just across the road form the beach There's a small pool with sun loungers. It is more isolated than staying in the main downtown area and a taxi will cost around 5JD to go into town . I would recommend that they improve the menu a little to reduce the need to go into town, although that may have just been because there were limited veggie options. Perfect if you want a quiet place to stay:)
