This place is a little gem hidden in the hills. If you don't speak Chinese, it's the place with a gate and a tall totem pole looking sign. The dorms are very basic with hard beds as it's a little mat on top of a wooden bunk. Each dorm has its own bathroom though! The common area is gorgeous and made out of wood. They offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc there, and the coffee is a local bean. They offer camping on their grounds if you have your own stuff, but be prepared to share that area.
I had a good time there, relaxing by the beautiful natural environment, butterflies, and the waterfall. It's pleasurable to take a walk, and even do a little hiking around the area. The plants, animals, and insects were all new for me, so I was surprised day and night. The food and culture of the Rukai is really different from local Taiwanese people, which impressed me the most. I will come back again!
