The staff were really nice, welcoming, and very helpful. The hostel is small and cosy with a friendly vibe. The living room is quite funky, basically you sit on cushions on the floor and eat off low tables. The only bad thing is that the place is hard to find - the sign outside the front is pretty small. But otherwise good, I'd stay here again.

We found this hostel very enjoyable. The staff and other people were very friendly. It's located right in the heart of Derry, a short walk down the street from the bars/pubs/restaurants and of course, the Free Derry wall and other historic sights. The rooms were decent, and the beds some of nicest we had our entire trip. We were treated to cereal/toast/etc in the large kitchen area in the basement, and had a chance to talk with other people. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone.

Nothing to complain. We had clean room, free linen, great location, staff always helping. We could leave our baggage after checking out without fee. If you stay in Derry, I reccomend staying in City Independent.

This hostel is great! It feels like walking into a home. They were incredibly friendly, helpful and chilled out. They even invited us to join them in the pub - a proper Irish welcome! It's clean, has cool decor and there's a lovely sitting room with TV. There's free internet too. really interesting people, 2 minute walk from major pubs, restaurants and shops. Free tea and coffee. Also, there were some Coco Pops in the kitchen for breakfast! Amazing =]

This was definitey the best hostel we stayed in during our NI-Trip! The staff was very helpful and pointed us to different tours, pubs etc. They arranged a cocktail-/pub-night and the next morning they made pancakes!! Awesome!

The staff was very helpful, guiding us where to eat, find the cash machine, best places to park, and where the tours and sights were. The hostel was in in need of repairs, specifically, the kitchen sink and counter was seriously damaged, but we were told that repairs were to be done in the next week to replace the counter.
