Good, clean hostel not too far from town. Murph was extremely helpful with all questions. Bed was comfortable, but was the metal frame bunk bed type that squeaks and moves (the best hostels have wood bunks screwed to the walls--no movement). The four bed dorm I stayed in had only one small safe--nothing creates unease like thinking all your valuables might be stolen at any time. I suspect that haven't had a problem with theft, but when you're new to town, you don't know that.

The Derry Hostel ist exactly how other reviews described: very open, like a second home. I definitely felt welcome and had a good time although not many people come to Ireland in February. The bathroom was cold because it's winter but that was alright - apart from that no critique at all. Maybe it's worth mentioning in the description that there is a kitchen everyone can use!

This was more like a home away from home. When you get there, there is a sign on the door to use the door around the corner, ring the bell and knock on the door. Merv who is running it for a few months is amazing. He keeps the plac spotless and helps you with anything you need. There is extra shampoo, detergent around for free. Free breakfast and coffee/tea all day long and a the place is heated very well. Ive been traveling for a few weeks and its the best place ive been in so far. GO THERE!!!!

I spent 2 nights there and i can't complain. The only personnel, Murph, was really nice and told us a lot of information and places to go in Derry. The entire hostel was perfectly clean and he even made bread for the guests. The rooms were very confortable as well as the kitchen and common room. I'm really pleased with my stay there and will definitely recommend it. The only negative comment I have is referred to the water in the showers: it was freezing! (it was winter, though).

Welcome, atmosphere and facilities are great. Really made for backpackers with everything you can use (computer, free wifi, free snacks everytime and breakfast), except of the price. I think it's a little bit too much expensive. It's sad, there isn't cheaper hostel in Derry.

Good location for seeing Derry. Friendly and informative staff. It's worth noting that all the nightlife finishes at 2am on weekends.

This hostel is like a home away from home. It has struck the perfect balance between being small enough that it has a cosy atmosphere, yet big enough that guests aren't tripping over each other. A perfect place to spend a few nights on Derry.

We only stayed for a night but we really liked the hostel. Kylie was very nice and she gave us a map of the city and explained to us the main places to visit + places to eat and have a drink in Derry. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was good with a choice between cereals and toasts, plus free coffee and tea. The hostel is a house (it feels very homely!) and the staff is very friendly! I would definately come back to this hostel! :)

I stayed here last year and it was a nice place. Now it seems to have undergone a makeover and it is even better. It's freshly painted, there are lovely sitting areas and a kitchen with complimentary cereal and milk. It's near to the main strip in Derry. Stayed in a private double room with my partner and the room was large with lots of storage space. A little bit more decoration in the room would have been nice but now I'm nit-picking. That's all I really have in the way of criticism.
