Although it's a bit far from the city centre proper (not too much, Derry is a very small town) once you enter the hostel you realise you have made a very good choice. The facilities are great, you can cook, you can read a book, you can really just sit in the whole day and never get to know Derry. The owners are very friendly and some days (Tuesdays I think) they even bake their own bread and share it. Interesting people, not really expensive (value for money is great). Recommended 100%.
Nice hostel, very cosy and with good kitchen/common area. Friendly staff/owner. Not much happening but I guess it was because of the time, went there on low season. But definately recommend it. Good breakfast included with homemade bread!
Derry City Independent Hostel is quite a decent hostel to live in and it is just like about 10 minutes walk from the city centre of Derry. Free breakfast served every single morning. 8/10.
I love derry and derry international hostel. the staff is so nice.
All of the 3 toilets were quite dirty and one lacked toilet paper. Despite of that, it has a homey atmosphere and it is like being at your own house. I would recommend it for couples...
Amazing hostel! We were in a very comfortable room. Steve was great, really funny, and helpful. Incredible price, and great breakfast options. Best hostel in Derry!
Fantastic hostel! So homely - Steve, the owner, was very friendly and the brekkie was awesome - homemade fresh bread and eggs if you're lucky! So different to all the other hostels I've stayed in but probably because this isn't a franchise hostel. Would def come back to this hostel if ever I were in Derry again!
Could not recommend this hostel enough! It was like a home away from home! It was such a relaxed feel and you can just hang out with the owner. He even bakes fresh bread every morning! :D If you are ever in Derry I would definitely stay here! :D
Brilliant hostel. I have stayed here twice in the last month and would definitely return. The hostel is spotless, welcoming and in a great location. I was travelling in a group of three but would very happily stay here alone because it was so friendly. Steven and Will were the best hosts. 100%
This place was so nice!! Had the comfiest beds and a really nice breakfast in the morning :) Was like a homely house, and the owner was really nice too! Only regret is I was only here for one night :(
A wonderful place with a fantastic atmosphere. Owner Steve was great; supplying map and detailed account of local geography. Also: curious man called Joe with fantastical moustache.
The hostel was both accommodating and very flexible in regards to our check-in time. We can't rave enough about the Dolce Vita Derry Hostel. It had a very mature hostel motif. The interior decorating and furniture were themed from countries from all over the world. In the morning the co-owners and couple even provide complimentary fresh homemade bread. Our range of breakfast options were amazing. It was more like we were staying at the home of a relative than a hostel.
Great home away from home, Kylie was a fantastic host. Enjoyed my stay there would visit again!
Staff was friendly and helpful, atmosphere was good. could have been a bit cleaner, and the codes for security could have been better. they were not very complicated, so I did not feel as safe leaving my belongings in the room
Nice easy going staff and atmosphere. Didnt really like the bathroom, but other than that it was great.
I would really recommend this hostel it's got a homely feel to it :)
Had a great time here. Staff was very welcoming and told us what to see and even showed us some of the nightlife in Derry. Overall great experience!
Really impressive felt as if I was t home the moment I walked in. Felt very safe and surrounded by humble people.

This place is all round good craic! Friendly staff, a real relaxed vibe and definitely a place for travellers looking to meet other travellers. Derry is a great city to explore and also wind down, i was here 3 nights and could of easily spent a week or more. Stands out as one of my favourite hostels on a 5 month solo trip! Clean, has everything you need and is moments away from great music each night and all the local sights. Go here! Ryan, Aus
