READ THIS! NOT A HOSTEL, a pub, with a few rooms. The 'staff' are actually the bartenders/ bouncers with 'bouncer' culture: My luggage strap got stolen in the hostel, & when I informed the 'manager', he & a bartender started interrogating me, asking (threatning) to check the CCTV (which was a 24 * 2 hrs tape, for a $20 strap :) He then said I should prove it to him, and he'll pay the $ 20 back! I've 1 more strory, no space :)

Thank you for choosing Destinations Hostels during your visit to London, we expected this bad review from yourself, firstly " the staff ", We allow FREE printing here at the hostel, you downloaded something on our laptop to print out, it crashed our computer, the staff memeber ask you to wait until our laptop had rebooted(as a computer engineer you should know this) but you kept taking the laptop from behind the bar to do something to it, we ask you to not do this but you were rude to the staff memeber, as for the strap, when you informed us of this strap you actually said that you were not sure if you had brought it with you, but said it was stolen, I offered to check the cctv to see if we could see what happened, YOU DECLINED the offer, I said that if you could prove the purchase as a curtousy payment I would replace it, again you declined and ask for some duck tape, which we supplied, at no point were you " threatened " or spoken to in a threatening way, no one interrogatted you, we ask you about your strap and made suggestions about it's whereabouts. may I suggest you stay in a hotel next time, so have very special needs in your stay and I feel a hotel is the only place your special needs can be met, thank you for your comments.

Hostel is on top of a pub, but the pub closes at 11pm, so no noise trouble. Need to take a key (20£ deposit) if you want to return after closing hours. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are small but the beds (double bunks) are quite nice, with curtains. Room contained a tiny desk with a computer +internet access, and a small fridge. Otherwise no kitchen etc. Minor downpoints: Only two showers on floor. Room doors and underbed lockers very noisy, so difficult to sleep if others get up early

Thank you for chhoosing Destinations Hostels during your visit to London, we are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, we do have only 2 showers, but with only 20 beds in the hostel we have more showers per head than most hostels, and we are trying to make our lockers a little less noisy, but we do ask our guests to respect the others in the room, thank you for your comments.

The staff was super friendly (especially the owner and his German Shepherd, Mishka). Supremely comfy beds with privacy curtains are a definite bonus. I had some friends staying at St. Christopher's across the street and they were all jealous of me at the Rose & Crown! Definitely, definitely recommend.

Bathrooms are a little small, but it's a nice stay and good value. The walk from the Tube station to the hostel freaked me out a bit! Thanks a bunch for a good stay.

Stayed at the Rose and Crown for a couple of nights by myself. It is in a great location, very close to a major underground with three different lines, so getting anywhere was easy. Just a short walk away was the Tate Modern. Breakfast was free and the selection of spreads for toast was crazy! The beds were in very clean rooms and had privacy curtains and functioning reading lamps. I enjoyed the flat screen in the dorm room as well! The owner Charles was super helpful with info about London too!

This was a great hostel to stay at for a weekend. The atmosphere was great, very relaxing. The location was pretty good within walking distance to the London Bride tub stop. The staff could always be found for engaging conversation, useful advice, and always a cold pint. This hostel was well worth the small amount of money it cost to stay there. I would recommend this safe, friendly, and hospitable hostle to all travlers to London.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Located 1-2 mins walk down a side road off the main road leading to London Bridge so very central. Walk to London bridge in 5-8 mins maybe. The main road has plenty of bars and restaurants. Has numerical lock units on both the stairs door and the individual dorm doors - I prefer swipe cards. The bed had amazing mattress and great white bedding 10/10 The lockers under the beds would be better if they were the metal cage type as the wooden ones were poor design

Thank you for choosing Destinations Hostels during your visit to London, we are pleased you mostly enjoyed your stay with us but please let me address your concerns, we are only a 4 minutes walk from London Bridge tube station and 4 minutes from Borough tube station, we are 1-2 minutes from Borough high street, we have numerical locks on our doors that we change on a regular basis, swipoe cards cab be forgered and lost, our security lockers are wooden, but they are padlocked to the bed and you cannot see what is in them, as you could if they were metal cage type, they are as strong as the metal ones, we hope that any of these concerns will not stop you booking with us in the future, thank you for your comments.

This is just the perfect place to visit London with a couple of guys, had soooo much fun. Nice and cosy familiair hostel, pub is outstanding close to the Tower Bridge. The 6 bed dorms were perfect for our team, especially for toolboxmeetings with the perfect MR speaker;) And last but not least the staff, very gentle barman MR. T, he was hilarious. You can also sing along with Mr T, he knows pretty a lot of very nice songs, he even sing along in different languas. grtz jiu-jitsu team Holland

This is a great hostel, if a little expensive. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating, offered great conversation as well as suggesting possible itineraries. It is a 5-7 min walk to London Bridge tube station. It is just down the street from the Borough Market, which is awesome. The privacy curtain / light in the bed are very nice. About the only bad thing I can think of is that the drains are slow in the showers and it would be nice if there was some sort of shelving in the showers.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Rose and Crown. The staff were lovely and vey accommodating; Taylor was especially charming. I also really liked the privacy curtain because it gave me my own space. The only things I didn't like we're that I was unable to figure out how to use the locker and the washroom. Personally, I hate when water pools around your feet in the shower. Otherwise I enjoyed the stay and I would recommend this hostel and may revisit if I am back in London.

Cosy, small and very familiar, with very nice staff. Lots of brochures, free maps and info to get the most out of your trip. Breakfast included! Loved the idea of naming the rooms after places in london and the pub downstairs.

Great hostel! The location is very centred, staff was friendly and the rooms (and toilet area including showers with warm water) were very clean. Especially loved the little curtains in the hostel beds, gave some privacy when needed. Breakfast was also good, and we liked the owner's dog :) Would definitely come back here when back in London, probably will too! Thanks again for a lovely stay :) Cheers, girls from Finland :)

I had a great time at Destinations having visited over the summer and deciding to return for another week. Staff, location (only a short walk to the river, Tate Modern, Tower Bridge and the Shard, and easy to cross over or wonder along the river to Southbank, St Pauls, Covent Gardens/West End Area), rooms and facilities are brilliant. Breakfast is great and varied, looking forward to visiting again x

Nice hostel, quite expensive but have comfortable rooms and good location. Ideal for people who wants a peaceful stay. Don't go there looking for meeting people. The staff is really nice and it is a safe place. I could stay there again.

Thank you for choosing Destinations Hostels during your visit to London, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and likied our facilties, but you can stay at our hostel and meet plenty of people in our pub downstairs, then there is your room mates, so to say you cannot meet people here is wrong, we are competively priced with other hoistels for their 4 and 6 bed dorms, so we are not more expensive and compared with our offering you get very good value for money, thank you for your comments.

The staff were awesome! Very friendly and helpful! Free breakfast every morning was a great added bonus! Rooms and bathrooms are small but if you're only there for a weekend like I was it was fine! Would definitely stay there again if in London for another weekend trip!
