PROS: Supportive staff; good location CONS: Room was not cleaned whatsoever nor was anything in the room (sheets, towels, etc.), the bathroom door locked itself from the inside many times, the shower water flow as well as its temperature were not constant at all. Sleeping was dreadful as mattress and pillow were hard, there were loud parties and people shouting throughout the nights; there was even a private party underway which prevented us from using the kitchen for more than 30 minutes.
My first hostel in Bogota' was a bust, at least for my way of travel. So I checked out 5 or 6 hostels nearby first hand. Nomad Destino was by far the best. It's staffed by college students who are ever smiling, the rooms are clean, the sheets, white; the water pressure, terrific. There are two television rooms, a clean, well-stocked kitchen. The patio is open air, which is good some days and bad on rainy days. Downside? It's on a hill that will get your breath going.
Hosts were very knowlegeable, excellent!

Clean hostel, close to Plasa del Boliviar, Museo de Oro and other sights. It was very quiet when I was there, not sure if due to the season, but not much atmosphere. Wouldn't recommend if you want to meet people.
