A very laid back Hostel with really nice staff! They even helped us getting an Asado going in the middle of rain. It was quite clean but the only set-back was that one shower wasn't working and the other was just 2 showers in one room without any curtain to separate them. Even though we enjoyed our stay, we wouldn't recommend a private room as it was, compared to the dorms, really expensive and also really loud because there was construction work going on on the neighboring building.

Very comfortable beds with lots of layers for colder nights. Location by the beach but a short bus ride into main town. Staff were very helpful with any questions we had. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Showers powerful and warm with lots of space. The common area was comfortable and the TV and Computer were appreciated. Hostel was clean and the free use shelf in the kitchen was a great idea. Nothing to complain about here.

Great hostel!! Staff was not as friendly as in most places, but the hostel made up for it. It is clean and comfortable. There is only one shower so it can take a while to get into the bathroom, but otherwise this place was great!

Owner Comment (Hide)
Hi, thanks for leaving us your comment . With respect to the showers on the ground floor we have 2 showers , one of which is double and upstairs there is , so in total we have 4 showers . I hope you can come back another time . !! . Sincerely.

Exceptionally knowledgeable and well trained staff coupeled with its Pocitis location makes this the very best value for the money possible . . . compared to any other hostel in Pocitis or in Montevideo this is the place which does everything right. Highly recomend to others.

Hostel is out of the centre but very near the beach. Breakfast was very good. Check out is 10, which is early. There were queues for the showers at times

Good location, near to bus stops and very good enviorment. Safe to walk nearby at night and excellent staff.

Destino 26 is located in a for me perfect area: bars and restaurants near, and still a safe place. Busses pass frequent and only 20 mins to center. Beach is also near, which would be perfect in summer! Helpful staff, nice beds, hot shower, nice garden outside. Breakfast was good, nice that they have fruits next to the Uruguayan sweets only breakfast! Best part of the hostel is the kitchen: very well equipped and spacious! Definitely recommend this place!

Nice hostel, comfy bed, hot shower, good living room, helpful staff. One criticism is that the downstairs room next to the kitchen and showers can get loud and staff didn't ask anyone to keep it down. Also, break is basic - White bread, caramel spread, fruit, coffee (but don't let this put you off). Good location near the beach but a 20 min bus needed to get to old town (very easy and staff explain the route).

Excellent. Great vibe, good location in a safe, affluent neighbourhood by the beach. Note that in Montevideo, not much really happens in the `downtown` at night, therefore better to stay in a barrio. Staff are excellent. They make the place stand out.

Great old building, cozy common space, very friendly staff, clean bathrooms. Location is a bit off all main attractions exept the beach, so if you are staying during winter it will take you around 20 min on bus every day to get around. Supermarket, kiosks and cafes are one step away, nice thing to do in the evening - to go to the oceanside, literally three blocks away. It was a bit cold at night, but staff solved this problem fast with a thousand of blankets ;)

Lucia is the sweetest and most helpful person ever! Lovely stay over all

Super friendly and helpfull staff (Mauricio?). Spacious clean rooms, good breakfast, cozy house and a cute livingroom inviting for chilling out and feeling at home. The bedsheets are very soft and clean! When I was there was a bit of an old crowd, so dont expect a party hostel (unless its different on weekends perhaps). Location is a bit out of the city but I found it very easy to get around. Stay there for sure!
