It was ok. I thought it was supposed to be run by women, which I thought would be refreshing, and it felt like I was surrounded by men- only one woman serving brekky in the morning. Was only here for one night. Busy, central area. Noisy at night. Apparently brekky had been better on other mornings. Smoking allowed inside. Ok small book exchange

If you get lost, ask for "Midan Mustafa Kamel." The hostel is nearby. When I was lost, I found it easier to ask people to point to the square than to try to understand directions to the street.

Loved my stay from the first minute! The staff is awesome and really friendly, especially Mohammed. Rooms are clean and the other guests was really nice as well :)

Dina's was such a great place to have a home base when first arriving into Cairo. I love the fact that they have lockers. They have good/reliable wifi, hot showers and overall service. I was helped with all my inquiries. They provide a nice adequate breakfast every morning. The location is great, just a few minutes walk to multiple metro stations and a few minutes walk to the museum and Tahrir Sq. I highly recommend staying here to anyone. Thanks Nana, you've been wonderful.

Awesome place. I got a private room (shared bathroom). Staff was incredibly friendly/helpful. Everything was super-clean. Very warm and inviting. Free breakfast, too. Worth noting: the lift can't be called from the top floor, so beware if handicapped/injured--you'll be walking down 4-5 flights of stairs. Also mild mosquito problem, but nothing awful and they have repellent in each room if it's an issue. Only one electrical outlet per room (in my room at least)

Overall Dina hostel is very good for its price. Its location is excellent and the staff is very helpful. My suggestions to the hostel are: add a chair to every room, enhance lighting in every room, add mosquito nets to all windows. But even without these additions the hostel is highly recommended.

Good location in Cairo, recommended!

The hostel is in central Cairo and close to metro and eateries. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I booked a single room for 3 nights and it was like having my own apartment. If you are a light sleeper you may want to use earplugs since rooms facing the street can be noisy due to cars constantly using their horns

A very nice hostel in Cairo. Crew knows what a backpacker needs to get around Egypt and will help where ever possible. Walking distance from the Egyptian Museum and several good restaurants. No problems with protest or what so ever in Egypt (storm in a glass of water). Would definatly advice to come to Egypt now, all the tourist sites are open and you'll have the most beautifull spots all to yourself.

Stayed in a 10 beds dorm. Room was ok, noisy most of the time from the traffic below. Only 1 power plug, had to go to the common room to charge my devices. Clean bathrooms. 1st time there, not a single hanger to hang my stuff while having a shower. When get back for 2nd time (3 days after 1st stay), there was one. The basin was also fixed. Location is good. Can walk back to the hostel from Tahrir sq when the metro service was disrupted on 11 Feb. Met some friendly travelers there as well.

Although the building seems to be in really bad shape, you have to wait to be in the Hostel to start feeling a relaxed atmosphere that will make you want to stay more. The staff is good, and more importantly, they don't try to sell you tours all the time. Ask for help with anything and you will have good tips. A few things that can be better, but a good place to stay for the price.

Dinas has been a great mix of people every time I have come, is right in the middle of downtown, and has very helpful staff. I highly recommend it to anyone coming to Cairo, especially those not used to Egypt.

The hostel is well located and the staff very helpful. I can definitely recommend Dina's Hostel to scholarly/research travelers wishing to stay in central Cairo. Especially when combined with the complementary airport collection, it was an ideal base for my short research trip. My only problem was with was the mosquitoes (in February!), and that the hostel-supplied repellant vaporizer didn't seem to work. Future guests should consider bringing their own vaporizer or similar repellant device.

After reading all of the great reviews I was really looking forward to staying here but unfortunatly the reality is very different. The objective of this hostel is profit. All drinks are double the street prices. Breakfast is pretty bad compared too Regarding tourist information you better find it yourself. No real maps or assistance unless you are buying their tours. Asked about the tour of pyrimids in cario and for 3 people were quoted 330, on the street was 150. Stay somewhere else

Staff was polite, helpful, friendly, and reasonable. I got multiple mosquito bites from showering at night. It's ok I learned to shower in the morning :) Kitchen was always stocked with tea and coffee, Thankyou for that :-)

This is probably an ok place if you are a gap year backpacker. The room we had was incredibly basic. Itchy blankets and pillows well past their sell by dates. No towels and grubby carpets. its a very basic hostel. There seemed to be an awful lot of to-Ing and fro-Ing around a very cramped reception. We only stayed one night and then found a cleaner safer feeling place around the corner that was actually cheaper. Just cos somewhere is cheap is no excuse for grubby!
