i loved staying at this hostel. great breakfast, clean rooms. but still we had a few ants in our room. not too bad, though. room was cleaned daily, clean pool just in the middle of the hostel. the atmosphere was fantastic.

The staff was friendly and helpful as they extended a helping hand very readily when we were told of our delayed flight and had to make the necessary amendments to our itinerary. They were approachable too as they answered our questions about the place and even recommended some great places to visit in Darwin. The room, however, was a little dirty, especially the bed and the floor so it'd have been great if they had changed the bed sheets more regularly and removed the filthy rug.

Very nice hostel in a good position. 6-bed dorms are a little bit tight... not so much space for bags and stuff but not too bad anyway; 8-bed very spacious the only problem could be the power plug: just one in the and of the room so you need an extension chord or something. Awesome swimmingpool, toilets 'n showers are clean; kitchen very clean too and with a lot of tools. Amazing the free breakfast!!!! a lot of things to eat and how much you want! The WiFi is good, fast and not too expensive

Never seen such an expensive place with such low standards. The rooms are so basic and so dirty that it is shocking.

Owner Comment (Hide)
This is completely untrue! Our prices are competitive with other hostels in Darwin. The hostel is cleaned 3 times per day and our staff take great pride in presenting the hostel to the best standard so that you can enjoy your stay. If there was a problem you should have spoken to Reception during your stay, we can't help you after you leave! Your family did enjoy our complimentary breakfast every morning and use of the swimming pool which you failed to mentioned.

Dingo Moon Lodge was a nice little hostel with nice people to hang out as well. Nice location in Darwin CBD, clean facilities and free laundry. Breakfast was amazing! A simple thing to make a stay even better: Add lockers to the dorms, let's everyone sleep easier.

Hostel is situated in a quieter location of Mitchell St which is good. Breakfast is great when you can get up on time. Staff were nice. Good crowd both aussie and foreign at hostel.

Very small space in the room with no locker. Shower and toilet is too small. No comfort public place. Of course you can sit around the pool, but you might not want that in wet season.

Smelly and small toilets. Smelly kitchen. No lockers, and small rooms. Something mold-looking on the walls and just a trashy place overall. They also take 40 dollar deposit PER KEY.. We had nice roomates so that made it better but we just couldn't wait to leave the place anyway.

Overall a GOOD place to sleep and move on, but if your looking for the more friendly, meet cool people and hear cool stories from fellow travelers i recommend heading a bit down the road. VERY Good facilities, high pressured showers, big rooms, big communal kitchen. FREE laundry, FREE breakfast. But a bit run down, had to pay for internet. NOT so much DINGO MOONS fault but it seemed to attract the dirty, rude, and unhappy stereotype back packer

very good breakfast. A bit smaller than the other hostels in Darwin. I got a good discount on a tour and they put me in a smaller dorm after I asked for it, without charging.

Fine place to stay. Basic double room it was clean, has a pool location is great but all hostels on Mitchell st are great location. Atmosphere isn't rock in but we were a couple so wasn't looking for that. Would stay again

Think it would be better to split the "workers" from the "backpackers". The first place I have stayed in 18 months of travel where I struggled to meet backpackers and talk about travelling. Marjorie was a legend in helping with my constantly changing tours...
