Not one of the nicer hostels... Room wasn't cleaned, bathroom just gets completely soaked if you take a shower (no curtain, nothing!), and there are no lockers and not even real doors (just glass!). Probably just serves the cause to be a pre or post night for the Fraser Island tours as there is nothing else to do in rainbow beach. It's okay for one night. Location is really good, staff was friendly and there's free pancakes for breakfast and a 7 Dollar dinner which was quite good.

The room I was in could have done with some TLC but I think they may be doing this as the room next door was being painted. There were no lockers in the room if you wanted one. Dingos is connected to Frasers hostel and we were looking for the dinner they were offering one evening and we were sent back and forth a couple of times after miscommunication between staff. There was live music one night which was good to listen too.

One of the best hostels I've stopped in! Staff really friendly, great atmosphere, social events every night and good deals on meals. Would definitely recommend!

Worst hostel I've stayed in in Austrailia. Room was unclean, smelly and damp. Bed sheets stunk and felt like they hadn't been washed. Bad shower. Tried to get a refund for the second night because we disliked it so much. Staff were unhelpful and rude and would not let us get a refund. Breakfast very limited in amount received and quantity available as it only runs for half an hour at 7am.

Was in a 4 bed dorm room, which was large and had its own kitchen area and bathroom. Bathroom and bedroom were clean. Facilities in the hostel were good. Staff were very grumpy and unhelpful on reception. You have to put down a deposit/give your ID for a blanket which is annoying as most hostels down the east coast give a blanket on check in.

Although dorms have their own bathroom, the shower had no warm water. They ask your passport or ID as deposit for the keys. What happens if by chance the bag containing the keys gets stolen? Do they keep the passport??!! That's actually not legal. You need to give money as deposit basically for everything: 20$ for a blanket (winter nights in the east cost can get quite chilly) and other 10$ cutlery (the kitchen is literally empty). Very low money/value traders! One of the worst hostels ever.

Staff were quite unhelpful, and didn't give enough information about deals and trips, like the walk to Sands Blow or the welcome cocktail at 6pm, so I missed both. They'd sold out of the $7 dinners too. No lockers in rooms and some doors didn't lock easily from the outside. Beds were comfy, but you're only given one thin sheet as a blanket. Nice to have a toilet and shower in each room. Nice chill out areas inside, and by the pool. Close to the beach an opposite greyhound stop.

Good place to stay before and after Fraser trip, wouldn't stay longer though as not much to do in Rainbow beach. Good nightly events. Wasn't a fan of having to put deposits down for everything, and limited cutlery. Good free pancakes though!
