Negative: no lockers in the rooms; Positive: free wifi (peterpans, but very slowly), free pancake breakfast if you like to get up early (7am)
The rooms were quite clean and a great location to pick up any premier or greyhound bus cause the bus stop is across the street. The pancake breakfast was great and actually filling - 2 pancakes and they even had peanut butter! The hammocks were great for reading too
Nice hostel but very young crowd.
Everything about the hostel is good except check out is a little early (9:30am) and there are no lockers in the room. Everything else was good. You can't go wrong with free breakfast, pool, right across from the bus station and close to the beach.
We stayed at dingos and at one of the other backpackers in town and this was much friendlier, easier check in/out, and the room was a much better value then the other place. Laundry facilities were also much cleanlier. We do think that check out should be 10am and not 9:30 but that's minor. It was a great place to stay
Nice rooms, they have their own bar to have a drink
The hostel itself could be a nice place, if staff wasn't that incompetent and rude. I had several problems with people working there, but what I found truly ridiculous was the fact that they decided to have a last minute staff party and therefore closed the kitchen without warning at 7pm when everybody was about to start cooking. I was in the middle of my cooking and they just wanted to turn of the gas. The rooms are quiet nice, but not always cleaned properly. Would not recommend this hostel!
Nice hostel, good to meet people, nice rooms and good location. Would stay again!
Right where all the other hostels are and where the greyhound drops you also. Supermarket and beach are within 5-10 minute walking distance. Not really a lot to do in rainbow beach if you aren't going to fraser island. We did a sunset cruise which was lovely arrange by the hostel for only $20 which included a meal when you got back, good value for money and can take your own alcohol! Also hostel has free body boards so can go to beach and do body boarding!

Only changes I would make would be a vending machine which sold sandwiches as well as crisps. No food after 630 in a town that shuts at 8. I arrived at 845 on my first night and could only buy crisps and chocolate. For breakfast I would offer toast instead of pancakes but really lovely hostel. Hostel has great staff and friendly atmosphere. Also has swimming pool, table tennis, pool and free surfboards. Can't ask for much more!

Dingos was a great hostel to stay at either side of the Fraser Island tour. The hostel had a great atmosphere with events on every night, this gave everyone the opportunity to meet new friends and get to know the people who were in their Fraser Island tour. The room was clean and hostel had all the facilities needed. It was in an ideal location, minutes walk from the town and not far from the beach. I would definately recommend this hostel to friends.
