Hostel that provides the bare essentials, hot shower, bed and people to make friends with. The breakfast every morning was excellent, omelettes, toast, scrambled egg etc. However the common room was poor, so people didn't generally use it and for the facilities they provided it was expensive. Especially when Bellas over the road was cheaper and a much nicer hostel. But I enjoyed my stay and it did what it said on the tin.
Really nice staff A party place, it noisy be warned Breakfast included is good, Rooms are tired and cramped Recommend the all day trip that runs from there (fish, snorkel, BBQ) Overall good value for money
I heard mixed reviews about this place before deciding to stay since that's where my friends were heading. We stayed in the deluxe 6 bed mixed dorm and had air con and hot water which was amazing since the island is so hot. But the rooms were very cramped, lumpy pillows, broken shutters etc. It was quite expensive for what we got. There was a daily breakfast included. But lots of building work and I fell down the unfinished stairs, landed on a beer bottle and cut my hands open really badly :-(
Very primitive, not very personal felt very much like just as a place to sleep and not hang around. Overshadowed by the hostel over the road which looked much more fun. When I was there they had had their license revoked so the bar wasn't operating in the evening.
The dorm was very small, no space for your bags, no head space if you are on top of bunkhead, dirty old bathroom and is next to a dog sanctuary with barking dogs. For the same price you get a double with private bathroom at the bare foot hotel, just around the corner.
Not bad, was a place to sleep. Location on the island is good. Breakfast in the morning was ok, the guy cooking (husband of the manager) was a bit rude but other than that not bad.

Fun hostel if you get a good crowd. Nice beach town with a lot to do but Belize is expensive. Rooms are hot but your on an Island. Owners are really great people and helps out with everything. Its not really a party hostel but it can if you want it to be.
Dirty McNasty's is not a place for those who cannot stand dust. But overall the staff was nice, the breakfast was good, the 6 bed dorm was okay. The only disappointment was the shower was dirty and the window screen in the bathroom was filthy. Don't think they clean the 4 fans in the rooms at all. Really dusty. I have sinus issues and I was constantly stuffed up. Plus they had no rum punch and I'm not sure why.

We loved this place and ended up staying for another night.
An ok place to stay-If you want to listen to pop music and flirt with other travellers then it's the place for you. Clean dorms, good breakfast and the free canoes are a plus.
Good breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. Party hostel, only noisy till certain hour. Private room, basic, big enough, warm water shower with good pressure. Only minor, matras had it's best time and needs to be changed.
We had a nice stay at dirty mcnastys. You get great breakfast included in the price and bar prices are as any bar around the island. There's a lot of construction going on but it didn't really bother us. The rooms were quite small and got really warm at night even with three fans. Beds was clean. People from other hostels came to the bar cause there's so many people, so I would recommend the hostel to get more seats at the public areas. It was fun staying there!
The name says alot about this place. Staff members trying to pick up any girl they can, and got a shot to the ribs from mine after saying NO to many times. Beer bottle littered construction site with small rooms and poor storage for valuables. Would not recommend at all.To bad as Caye Caulker is a beautiful island paradise.
The name is very fitting. Dorm dirty, shower filthy, bottles everywhere, place is a building site. Dorms have lockable doors but no-one ever locks them, so security is not great. Breakfast was good, and staff friendly. Perhaps the smaller dorms or private rooms are better, but the 16 bed dorm is awful. Maybe I'm just to old for this type of hostel!
Cheap!!! Basically a construction site, garbage everywhere, nails sticking out of everything and rotten boards. Only good part about the bar was a new Picnic table and the free run punch, which there was only about 5 liters of for 25 people. Beds were comfy though.
It has a lot of potential but needs improvement in a few areas. Could be cleaner and the construction site in the center kills the mood. Worth a stay and not bad overall. Other travelers are cool.
This Hostel is like no other for starters. I began my visit with a 5 night reservation and left after 12. That in itself might suggest the hostel is a sweet deal. In Truth it was the friendly staff who made the visit exceptional. Although I don't party till the sun comes back up, you can find it here most days of the week. Mornings find travelers sleepy-eyed until they order the free breakfast from the swinging, singing Chef Maestro. This place Rocks...............
I really wanted to like this hostel. Pros: Bathrooms in the dorms and hot showers with water pressure! Free rum punch (also see cons) and water when available Great Location Daily housekeeping Cons: construction mess all over the place where you need to walk DIRTY - Beer bottles etc. are everywhere from the bar and free drinks Rooms are too small, no space between the beds to walk Yes, free canoes, but they are falling apart.
You should book Bella's across the road. But if not dirtys is pretty good. I just dislike that the place has been partially under construction for so long... But that happens all through central america
