Friendly little hostel on a hill by the centre of town. The staff were helpful, facilities clean and there was a nice atmosphere.

We stayed 1 night in a double room with bathroom. The hostel is in a great location overlooking the bay and within 5 mins walk of the main Street in Kaikoura with shops etc. Very close to hand. There is a lovely deck and garden with plenty of outdoor seating. The facilities are great and staff friendly and helpful, we would thoroughly recommend it.

the hostel is located opposite to the iSite/bus stop, above a little hill. friendly and helpful staff. kitchen, bathrooms and dorms are quite tidy, but a bit outdated. wifi (500MB) is free of charge. bikes are available for low priced rent. perfect place to chill and relax after a walk to the awesome seal colony or a whale watching tour. → recommended

Dolphin Lodge was fabulous. Staff were kind and attentive, rooms were clean and comfortable and the views from the yard were great! There were hammocks and picnic tables to enjoy outside, as well as a huge spa pool. When I return to Kaikoura, this will be my first choice.

Such a great find! This hostel has single beds, not bunk beds which was a luxury! A wifi limit of 500mb which is amazing and even reached into the room. The views from the garden are lovely. It has a hammock, a picnic area and a hot tub. Would highly recommend it!

Absolutely beautiful hostel, just on the far side of the main strip. Its within walking distance from everything in town. Staff are very helpful and have lots of suggestions for things for you to do in town. The view is lovely and the rooms are comfortable and homey. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will recommend to anyone. Thank you!
