no tour desk laundry not available during advertised hours internet expensive no lockers
An ok hostel, but have stayed at better in Kaikoura. The location was a bit set back from the main road which would not have been great if we didn't have a car getting up at 5am for the dolphin swim. Some of the reception staff were a bit miserable, b others were great! Had a rainy day and the TV broke about 4 times and the DVD collection (VHS's) were all crazy fuzzy so not the best! Wifi is also really expensive. Rooms ok and beds pretty comfy, kitchen was ok and outside area nice if sunny :)
What a great place to stay. A hidden treasure on the hill! Great views, nice people. We enjoyed it so much! We will definitely come back some day!

This hostel was clean, had a convenient walkway down to the main street, and had free parking off the street and in front of the building. There was a line for the showers, as there are only two stalls, and providing guests with free coffee or tea in the morning would have been a big plus. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and both the staff and guests were very pleasant.
Location up the hill - great view! Had 4 Bed Dorm, quite small, just the beds and a heater, no lockers in the room. Bathroom uncomfortably cold! Kitchen big, bright and very clean! Access to internet $3-5 per hour. Staff very young and not very communicative. Free Spa outside (Unfortunately it was raining), cosy and warm oven inside!
