I do see how the hostel was so popular a few years back. It is at the best possible location in the city. Right now though it smells, the rooms are dated and seem not taken care of. I could see the effort by the nice old russian(?) ladies, but the place simply needs a whole renovation, which is not happening. Stinks, mold everywhere, and every piece of furniture is creaking and/or broken. Unless you are on budget, or really just look for a place to crash after parties, look for another.

It is nicely situated in the oldtown and the staff is friendly. However the stank is horrible it smells like sewer!

Basically get what you pay for... Perfect for group of lads just for sleeping in!! No hassel from staff when coming in at the early hours of the morning. Strange smell in corridor though which didn't help the hangovers.....

Nice staff who speaks english, next to the town square, water heats up fast and just a nice room. It was nice and warm, while it was -5 outside. The bed was a bit too small for my boyfriend (192cm), but overall a pleasant stay.

The Dome Pearl Hostel is located right next to the dome square in the old town of Riga, so everything is in a walking distance. The stuff was friendly and provided usefull tips. We enjoyed our stay in the well heated hostel, but we had the room next to the reception so it was kind of loud when someone arrived or leftin the early mornings.
