The facilities were in good shape and were clean. Staff was fantastic and helped plan our stay as well as call and arrange transportation. Location has a few good things but not like Bellevista. Good hostel for the money.

Dear customers: Bellavista is not Santiago. Santiago is much more than Bellavista area. As local myself I can tell you that. I was born in Santiago, and Barrio Brasil has much more identity than the overpriced Bellavista. Barrio Brasil, where we are located, it´s the patrimonial area in town, where you can actually hang out with local people, paying local prices. Don´t let "the lights, and gringo area fool you" Be sustainable, try local, choose local =) Best regards pATO

A great start to 12 months away. Staff are friendly and very helpful, breakfast is really delicious. The main part of the city is a little bit of a walk but we enjoyed it, and there are still supermarkets, bars and restaurants close by. Everything is kept really clean and the kitchen is well equipped. Thanks Don Santiago!

An absolutely perfect hostel. The staff were fantastic, breakfast great and atmosphere brilliant. It feels like a family home. Thanks Victor, Alberto and the rest for a great stay. It's just a shame Chile defeated Australia

Loved this place good all around and 10out of 10 for breaky best ever and staff are great and friendly andy spanish is poor and have us tips and helped us out ,pato especially he loves aussies so if you are an aussie you may have an advantage :) . They have a bbq there they have one recommend to anyone as it caters for couple and singles .

Hostel is awesome, and you really feel at home with the staff. The breakfast is unreal, common areas are big, beds are already done (and with a lot of blankets), and you can bring in your own alcohol. Only downside from what I can remember was that the toilets aren't very strong, so watch out if you take a load in there! Totally recommend this hostel though!!!

It is a really lovely place to stay. Alberto and his staff are really nice and fun and the breakfast is delicious.

Lovely, quirky hostel not too far from the metro and a comfortable walk to the city centre. it actually looks and feels like a large house rather than a hostel. Comfy beds, dorm room felt spacious, and nicely homely decorated (I liked the tiles in the bathroom).

Nice hostel to stay in. The staff were great and very helpful. Overall, it felt homey and comfortable (nice to have a full bed to sleep on) although it was a bit quieter when I was there. Breakfast was great (toast, scrambled eggs, juice!). It's also very conveniently located for restaurants/bars and fairly close to the metro.

Really cozy stay; they did show care about the people stay there, helpful, kind; big public place for people to chat, watch TV; good location, close to shuttle and metro stations, and walk distance to plaza armor; brilliant breakfast with eggs, fresh juice and fruit, coffee, tea, etc. Just little noisy some times, cause wooden floor cranky under steps; people chat loudly outside the window.

It is completely not on to have to come downstairs to the common/dining room to find bodies sleeping on the floor and all over the couches. This hostel accepts additional guests at a lower rate if you are happy to sleep out in the common area. This is very inconvenient as you have to sit on your bed until they choose to get up, which in a small dorm room is not ideal and also means additional people using the already sparse facilities eg. Lockers, showers etc. This occurred all three nights.

Dear customers: the 2 fellow buddies you saw sleeping in the couch were sleeping FOR FREE as they got stolen at the bus terminal, and they came back to our hostel. What did you want us to do? Kick them out? No way, we let them sleep for free in the living room as we were fully booked. That´s all the story. If you guys would´ve been a bit more social at the hostel, you would´ve known the whole story. Don Santiago is a hostel for travelers and backpackers. Please remember that.

A very cosy hostel with excellent staff and a warm feel, more like a home than a hostel. If you're looking for an early night it may be best to avoid but if you're young and looking to meet other young travellers then this is the place for you. Top notch breakfast also.

More of a guesthouse with dorm rooms than a hostel. Highly personal service and a breakfast that will have you leaping out of bed to be first to the dinning table every morning means that you'll have a great time here. The city centre is a 15 to 20 minute walk but that's not really a negative (and the area feels very safe as well). Be aware of the creaking stairs which may keep light sleepers awake at night. I'd happily stay here again.

The staff is very wellcoming and helpful. The beds are very comfortable, and every day everything in the hostel will be cleaned. The atmosphere is great, that's why I stayed 12 days instead of 5. However, one thing to improve is the kitchen equipment.

Really enjoyed my stay at Don Santaigo Hostel and would recommend it. The hostel is well located for exploring the city and has a good friendly atmosphere so its easy to meet other people staying there even if you´re travelling by yourself. The staff, especially Pato are very helpful and able to assist with things to do in the city and the best bars to visit in the evenings. The breakfasts were also tasty and substantial.

I really enjoyed my stay at Don Santiago. The staff are fantastic and more than willing to help make your visit to Santiago as enjoyable as possible. The rooms are nice and quiet being upstairs from the main common room and kitchen. The breakfast is amazing:Freshly squeezed juice, lots of fruit, eggs and great coffee. The area that the hostel is in is really cool with lots of nice restaurants and bars in character buildings. I would definitely recommend this hostel!

Only two toilets in the hostel (one in a bathroom). Breakfast is excellent.

At the most 14 people share 2 toilets and 2 showers.... It´s not that bad either, come on french girl We are most likely the smallest hostel in Santiago =)

Best hostel! The staff are amazing and helpful, the place is always clean, the breakfast is fantastic (especially when you have a hang over) and the location is super easy! Really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely go back! Thanks guys

This has been our favourite hostel on our 2-3 month trip so far. The staff were awesome - we were cooked for and driven to the bus terminal on leaving. We like a hostel where the staff are welcoming, but these guys were like our buddies - couldn't have asked for more. Only downside was there not being enough toilets! But don't let that stop you staying here!

Great hostel located between the two Metro stations Republica (line 1) and Cumming (line 5), which bring you anywhere in the city. I stayed as well in the 4-bed- as in the 6-bed-dorm. The 6er is very quiet because it's windows go to the backyard and not to the street compared to the 4er. The beds are comfortable, even though the bunk beds in the 6er are very shaky. There are two showers available and one further bathroom at the ground floor. The staff helped me a lot and breakfast is very good.

It was great, in all ways
