Delicious breakfast and friendly staff. W definitely come back. Rooms in new building are comfortable, clean and warm. The old building needs some upgrade.

Owner Comment (Show)
Thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay with us. It was a pleasure to have you stay with us for a couple of days and glad you got to experience so much of what Doolin has to offer. To clarify the difference in grades of bedrooms between the two buildings as you stayed in both, the smaller building room was a standard room (some of which are in the main building as well) and the room in the main building you stayed in was a superior room hence the different in grade. (I upgraded you as a thank you for accommodating us) We are continually improving all our rooms such as the standard room you stayed in was just newly floored, painted, new duvet pillows etc. and over the coming weeks we will be adding more decorative touches and amenities. Since taking over the properties in February 2012 we have invested heavily and are committed to having the highest quality of hostel in both facilities and service. We are commitment to improve our hostels each day over the coming months and years ahead to reach our goal and will also be doing this with an environmentally conscious ethos. I look forward to seeing you both again, hopefully in the not too distant future. Anthony

We had a lovely stay at Doolin Hostel. The staff were very helpful and gave us great tips for walks which we may have otherwise missed. They were extremely accommodating and made us feel at home. It has been many years since we were hostelling but all agreed that following this experience we would do it again and recommend Doolin Hostel to our families and friends.

Our room was spotless and very plush. It felt like a hotel room, but at hostel prices. Tea, coffee, milk, and cereal were provided free in the large kitchen/dining area.

We stayed in Doolin hostel (2adults,2kids) for 2 nights. We weren't expecting the the fantastic service that we received. Breakfast was perfect, great coffee and home made breads and scones added to our experience. Not to mention hot chocolate for us with a drop of baileys in the adults. Anthony gave us great advice on where to go during our visit. Thank you we will be back soon. Shane and family.

I had a lot of fun at the hostel. It's ideally located for hiking to the cliffs, and the owner knows all of the best paths and sights and pubs. He was very friendly and generous, and let me borrow a coat since I had mine stolen earlier in my trip. Bus Éireann also stops exactly in front of the hostel, which could not be more convenient. Overall I had a wonderful time. It was the only place on my trip that I regretted not staying for longer. Thanks for a great time!

Doolin Hostel is a beautifully homey hostel in a small town. That said, it is not really the big party hostel you get in cities like Dublin and Galway. I thoroughly was impressed by the sincerity and kindness the owners brought to their work--you can really tell this is what they love to be doing. The 5 euro breakfast in the morning is to die for and having a pub two minutes away isn't bad either. The beds are incredibly comfortable compared to most hostels. I would easily come back!

Excellent stay! Anthony is a super-nice/helpful host. Raised in the business and it shows. Far better and more affordable than any US hostel I've been in. Thanks, man!
