I fell asleep listening to waves gently crashing on the beach, and that was only one of many great things about our stay here. It is a beautiful old house, with very comfortable sleeping arrangements and a huge, well-stocked kitchen and lovely rooms to sit in that look out to the ocean. Our host was incredibly funny and cheerful and very helpful!

Can't find anything to fault this place on. Just enjoyed a trurly relaxing holiday with my 14 year old and some friends. This is the second time we've stayed and I can't recommend it highly enough. Right on the beach and handy for all the tourist attractions. The owners really make you feel welcome - a lovely Easter break!

The location is stunning and the hostel itself is warm and cosy! Even though there were many childeren at home, it was a plesant stay. The facilities are good and the view from our room couldn't be more amazing!!!! The staff was very helpfull and gave us a ride to castlerock on sundaymorning, so we could pick an early train to explore the beautifull coastline of Northern Ireland.

This hostel was in an amazing location, right next to the beach. We loved our stay here and wished we had stayed a bit longer. It might be hard to access if you don't have a car. Great kitchen facilities and lovely rooms. Only downside is that it was fairly noisy from families with small children.

This is the only place we would ever stay on the north coast! It's beautiful and feels like home as soon as you walk into it!

Spent the night of the 6th April in this hostel. An excellent and warm welcome, a staff obliging, cleanliness being the best I've ever seen so far. The premises are ancient but the furnitures and equipment are modern and very good. Worth every penny. Even had the chance to have a nice evening of traditional music thanks to a young fiddle and whistle player. An outstanding hostel that I recommend to all.

Very helpful, welcoming and atmospheric place to stay and a stunning location. Lovely extras, a lounge with vinyl collection - a quiet place to sit with a view over the fabulous beach.

I love Downhill Hostel - I have stayed there several times and it's location is fantastic on the edge of a miles long beach. It is quite remote and probably most suited to those travelling by car. The hostel itself is warm and clean and very characterfull- it's a victorian building nestled into a hill. The hosts are lovely and for anyone looking for a bit of cosy escapism amidst spectacularly wild landscape its a treat. Sarah C.

We have always enjoyed staying here, beautiful location, great for baby, and the intoxicating aroma of the salty sea as soon as you open the door. What more could you ask for? We don't believe there's much that can match the location at any price point.
