Downtown Guesthouse Reviews

We stayed over New Year. The guesthouse was very well located and the owner was really friendly and helpful. It's a quirky place with individual style. Sharing a bathroom with the room opposite was no problem at all. It is a little bit noisy outside but then, you're so central that is to be expected. We would stay again.

A very nice, lovely and clean room in the centre of Amsterdam! Everything (supermaket, sights) is in walking distance. The host was very nice and friendly. We had a great stay there!

The location is excellent in the very centre of Amsterdam. Very good restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood. The room is tiny and lovely with nice paintings on the walls. The bathroom and everything was clean. The host is nice though he has a very specific sense of humour. Summarising, it is a very nice place to stay in A'dam with a very high value/cost ration. Recommended.

Awesome place to stay and overall conveniently located, close to anything you might want to visit. The owner was very helpful and a great person, room was nicely decorated, clean and really warm and cozy. Shared toilet was very clean and well equipped too. Will certainly be a place of choice next time we visit Amsterdam!

We were surprised that we had to share the bathroom. We got confused by the description. The description says ¨Baño privado - comparitido¨. (Private shared bathroom). Strange word combination (I think a bathroom is either private or shared but not both.) Rooms good, the beds good, very nice staff. Little expensive (83 euros for one night when you have to share the bathroom). Free DVD´s and coffee available (DVD only in our room??.. other rooms knocked our door to get DVD´s. from our room...).

The room is very centrally located, and extremely easy to get to by tram. The owner, Edwin, was very polite and helpful in giving directions and reccomending places to eat. The room and shared bathroom were clean. The street outside was a bit noisy with the windows open, but nothing unusual for Amsterdam. I would recommend the room for the price.

Based on great reviews I booked this place. It's well located about 10-15 min walk to the center of things. The staff was completely absent during my stay. They weren't even around when I checked out. Would have liked more hospitality. The guest house is RIGHT next to a bar/nightclub and it was quite noisy at night. The guest house is also in a gay district (there's a huge male nude statue at the doorstep). It didn't bother me and is a plus for gay travelers, but it would have been nice to know

The location was perfect. It was a short walk to just about everywhere, except the Ann Frank House, which was a trek through some beautiful parts of Amsterdam. There is a coffee shop called Betty, Too directly downstairs from the hostel, which was perfect. The hostel is in the gay part of town, which makes for a great deal of noise at night, but its a decent trade-off. I really enjoyed my stay. Edwin was a delight.
