Lovely cozy place to stay when it was so cold outside! Staff and breakfast are excellent.

wifi and breakfast!

Excellent hostel. I stayed much longer than I had originally planned. I would definitely stay again. I would also recommend it to friends. Not much of a party scene, mostly hikers who like to go to bed at a reasonable hour.

Very good breakfast: Bread was still warm and drinks included. I only missed cheese and fruits. Staff was nice: one was nice, but not very helpful. The other one was extremely nice and obliging. Very clean and very spacious with lots of room to dry shoes etc. Danke, dass Sie ein neues Zimmer geöffnet haben, da die meisten Zimmer sowieso nicht genutzt wurden. (Ich verstehe nicht, warum man 6 Personen in ein Zimmer stopft, wenn die meisten anderen sgerade leer stehen.)

I was unlucky to be lodging here when a large group of primary schools children were there seemingly unsupervised as they ran riot until after midnight in what are massive dorms. It was less than ideal for all of us travelers who did not anticipate having to deal with this on our holiday. Added to this, the hot water was out for over two hours so no hot showers in the morning made for a less than desirable stay. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else in this amazing town.

Loved loved it. Great beds, nice bathrooms & showers, and superb breakfast with free cappuccinos. Location was fantastic, but it's not where google maps says it is... just go down the main road for about 5-10 minutes and turn right when you see a brown sign for Downtown Lodge. I should mention this is a large set of hostels, so it feels a little more "commercialized." Still, it was wonderful.

An excellent hostel, perfectly situated to explore Grindelwald and the surrounding mountains.
