Dragon King Hostel is nothing special, at best. The whole place was very dark. The rooms are small and cramped, and the showers don't have curtains, so the whole bathroom gets wet. The rooms were neither dirty nor especially clean. Worst, the atmosphere was not that of a friendly hostel, but a dark, dreary budget hotel. It was cheap, though, and easily accessible by subway. Overall, Dragon King is 'nice by Chinese standards,' meaning not very nice.

Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff with a huge wealth of knowledge about the area. 250m from subway, perfect location. Thank you for a great stay x

The hostel is just around the corner of a subway station and in the famous Beijing Hutongs. It's kinda dark in there if you arrive at night but the place is lit up with life! The staff was amaing and I had a nice time interacting with them. The bar/restro is cool and the rooms are really clean and with best facilities!

The staff are really nice and they can speak English. The location is 1 stop away from the Lama temple and 2 stops away from the Temple of Heaven. The staff were also helpful when we asked for the "must-see" spots. The internet was slow but acceptable. You have to go to the common rooms though, because it isn't available at the rooms. Oh, there was no free beer (upon check-in) and I don't recall having a Friday dumpling party as advertised in the Property information.

This hostel is awesome because of the great staff they have. Rooms are nice although small. Has a nice bar but the front lounge is a little lacking in comfort. WiFi worked well almost everywhere.

The staff is excellent. Friendly, helpful and speak very good English. The beds are very clean but a little on the hard side. I still slept well. Second floor very quiet. Location is great, down a narrow street and only a half block to the metro stop on the 5 line. I'd stay there again.

Right next to a subway stop (1min walk or less down the alley). Bakery across the road sells cheap coffee. Average location but the close subway fixes that problem. Great hostel for meeting people and organizing cheap tours. I would stay here again. The staff are very friendly and speak English well. Eat the peking duck at The Eden down the road, amazing food and very cheap!

Excellent hostel. Staff is great. They memorized my name even though I was just there 3 days. They even remembered which tours I booked and made sure I was on time. Tour of Mutianyu Great Wall was great, highly recommended. The dorms have curtains for all the beds, which gave some privacy. Met great people in the bar. Beer is pricey there, but worth it in my opinion.

The bed (i.e. ready light, outlet, privacy curtain, locker) set up is great. The bathrooms leave something to be desired (but at least there are western toilets!). There's no kitchen or real common area to spend time in so the main downside of this hostel is lack of atmosphere and socializing. However the location is great both for accessing both the airport and attractions but also nearby groceries and great cheap restaurants.

Location is in the hutong which is excellent to explore the real old Beijing life. Has a lamp and plug on each bed which is good for labtop using. Price is fair. If there is coffee or kitchen facility it would be excellent.
