After trying Red Psycho Llama and not being too impressed we tried somewhere else when we passed through Lima a second time. Dragonfly was slightly better but still had a few downsides. Staff were very friendly and the place was again clean and tidy. However we did still think it was a little expensive, this could just because Lima is expensive in general. Great location in a safe area. Good overall.

A pretty good hostel in Miraflores, which is definitely the nicest area to stay in Lima (although bear in mind most of the cultural sights are downtown, about a 30min bus ride away). Staff were helpful and facilities (including a rooftop bar) were nice. Rooms were ok but nothing special.

Thanks Dragonfly, we had a wonderful couple of days in Lima! Great advice from the helpful and enthusiastic staff. Walking distance to many great restaurants, the Larcomar shopping centre and public transport options. Thanks for the memories.

This is an excellent value hostel for its situation, the staff were very friendly and are able to organise buses and tours from the hostel. The rooms were comfortable and the showers were hot. The roof terrace is very nice for relaxing and the beach is very close. The breakfast is very good with fresh bread, juice and good coffee. Highly reccomended.

Jose runs a tight ship. Any question we had, he had an answer. He was incredibly helpful in making sure we found our way from Lima to Cusco. Although our stay was short, (2 nights), it was great. Will definitely consider staying at Dragon Fly again next time I visit Lima.

Good location, Miraflores is a nice area, clean, comfortable, take a walk along the shore, good view, nice parks with free wifi etc. Good beds, clean bathroom, nice wall painting, cool terrass unstairs. Main concern is the door bell, it's SO loud that everytime someone calls it makes you up. Very very annoying. It's also a bit loud because of the cars on the street, for me it's ok but if you need really quiet place... :)

colorful, nice hostel in Miraflores, really close to the coast. It's really noisy in the dorms because of the busy street in front of the hostel. Very small breakfast. Had to wait for the bathrooms almost every time. Very comfi beds. Huge dorms with enough space for all your stuff and good big lockers. Nice roof terrase with sofas and grill and tables. Helpful staff.

Good vibe, friendly staff, but the wifi connection is poor and restricted to the common room. The bunks are hardly comfortable either.

We stayed for a few nights on our way to Cusco. We organised airport transfers direct with the hostel as we arrived very late - seamless pick up and check in. The location is in the tourist part of Lima so feels very safe and lots of restaurants around. The hostel itself was a bit noisy - the building echoes so you can her doors opening/closing, people talking etc but nothing an iPod or earplugs can't fix. They also have a nice roof top terrace where you can sit and read a book or have a drink.

Fernando is great!, close to the shore/shopping, surfing was close and cheap, warm showers, great rooftop patio, cool care downstairs, cheap bike rental. There was some confusion for a tour, but it all turned out well.

I've been to Lima a couple of times and every time I stayed in a different hostel. Dragonfly is definitely a winner. It has a very laid back vibe, very good location and a friendly staff. The Wifi is pretty fast, the kitchen is spacious and clean, it even has a BBQ. It's a bit noisy due to the cars and busses at night but nothing some earplugs can't solve...

A lovely little hostel with plenty to offer. My only recomendation would be if you want to book buses, head down to the Cruz del sur bus station rather than booking through the hostel... theres a bigger choice of destinations. All in all, a great stay x
