It was a very joyful experience when stayed at Dreamtime hostel in Cairns. The double room we had #14 (named Coral) was spotless and the shared bathrooms close to our room were very clean as well. Staff is friendly, helpful and always willing to help out any inquiries during our stays. Overall to say, I'm more than happy to recommend Dreamtime to budget travellers who still wants a comfy stay in Cairns.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. The staff make it a personal experience and really go the extra mile with activities for people staying there. This place had some great character which makes it stand out from other hostels. Would definitely recommend

Awesome atmosphere! You meet many interesting people in the common area and the different events (including the bbq with the fireshow). Not a party hostel but the center of Cairns is accessible in about 10 minutes by foot. Also the staff has good tipps and is really helpful. Definitely would come again!

Great hostel, was very sad to leave! Staff are beyond helpful and welcoming, and helped us so much, inc helping us book all our travel and tours down to Brisbane. They really go out of their way to make you feel at home. Comfy, clean rooms (no bunk beds!), modern bathrooms and kitchens, pool, pool table, DVD nights, BBQs, washing facilities, etc. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and lots of different spaces to chill out inc sofas, hammocks. Only thing that could be added would be to have free WiFi.

The first thing that separates this hostel from the rest is the showers. They have many unique showers, so when you get bored of one you can always try a different one and it will keep you occupied for as long as you are there. They also have a pool table with interesting contours, but if you are put off by that then you don't like a challenge. They clean the beds meticulously for those of you who like that stuff. Overall great hostel, back soon! Shout out to Erin, she does her job very well.

I only spent one night at Dreamtime, but thought the staff was great and I also really like my room. It was clean, smelled nice, and there were comfortable sheets and blankets. However, it was very inconvenient that the desk was closed from noon until the late afternoon. Since I only had half of a day to see Cairns, it would have been great if I could have been able to get my bag from storage after 12 so I could have more time to see the city.

While my bed was comfortable and the ammonites were good. The hostel was miss represented on hostelworld- I booked a ten bunk with ensuit, when I checked in I got a six bunk with no ensuit, the change wasnt explandedvor even adressed. This isn't a massive issue I still enjoyed my time there and its location is great and staff were very friendly.

Very helpful staff - recommended good trips and dropped me off at the port and bus stops for free. Friendly sociable atmosphere with big open undercover courtyard area. Events most nights, like pizza or bbq with fireshow - not intrusive drunken party nights, but designed to get people talking and taking part if they want. Great place to stay

Great people. Great atmosphere. Rooms were a little stuffy, but other than that had a great stay. Helped me out with everything I wanted to do, had great suggestions. Very friendly, remembered my name, which is cool.

BEST HOSTEL during my 6 weeks trip!! Amazing staff who would even help me book sail trip days after I had left. I loved the non-party atmosphere at the hostel. Met very many smart people and had great, inspiring conversations. Cosy couch are is perfect for reading, playing games and getting work done. Bathrooms in doorms felt like in a Spanish villa! Location directly across supermarket and close to railway is perfect for Cairns. Definitely stay here if you can!!!

Really nice place and really nice staff! They were great and very helpful! The only things I didnt enjoy much were that there was a bad smell near the washing machines and the kitchnen wasnt always very clean. But it was a great hostel to stay in!

This hostel was a really cosy , nice hostel , but slightly on the expensive side... bedrooms were nice but you had to pay for the air con ... the reception closed during nighttime and afternoon time which was an inconvenience but the hostel itself is very nice .. personally i would want something in a slightly better location as well but it wasn't too far to walk

As the same suggests, this is a chilled relaxed place with hammocks and was a refreshing stay, after a few nights prior at the crazy Gilligan's hostel. It's about 10 minutes walk to the main city area but still well located. The staff were friendly, there is a pool table and the rooms are ok. They are small though and air-con is coin operated per 3 hours. They have movie night and various activities on different nights.

Friendly staff, nice rooms...unfortunately a lot of ants in the upstairs kitchen drawers and on the surfaces - luckily they have another kitchen you can use. Air con is $1 for 3 hours but we found the fan to be sufficient the majority of the time (we had a double room). Overall a nice, chilled out place with a fairly good location - Id stay again.
