We really enjoyed our stay at Dreamtime! Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly and the overall vibe of the place was relaxed and peaceful. Sometimes it was excruciatingly hot so the 20 min walk to the city centre wasn't too favourable but at the end of the day, we liked the fact that it was based on a quiet street away from all the partying and late night commotions. Also, 10 points for cleanliness :D

The hostel is great but big mix up with me not receiving security details and I was locked out when I arrived. Could have been handled better by receptionist the next day. This is a nice quiet place and good ten minute walk from busy night life and beach.

Perfect place, not too big, so you get to know the othere guest. excellent comon area where you can bring your own alcohol and start the party before moving to a night club. They organize activities every night arroun 7 (movies, pizza or BBQ), and that work as a meeting point for the guest, to know each other, and start the party. I loved this hostel. It has great character, is a lovely and friendly place to stay, and the staff were extremely helpful. I would absolutely recommend this hostel.

This is one of the best hostels, if not the best I've stayed in, in Australia, everyone is so friendly here, the staff recognise you and remember your name which is a nice touch! The only thing which can improve it are some lockers, but not many places in Queensland do provide them! Still, that shouldn't detract away from the place, it is awesome! The BBQ and pizza nights are especially good! Can see why it is the #1 hostel in Australia as well! Will be returning next time I'm in Oz!

It's a good place to be in Cairns. Quiet, near to the supermarket and a 10 mins walk to the city. good atmpsphere!

Top notch staff, always cheery and very knowledgable and helpful. Don't like pumping coins in machines for aircon but understand why this has to be done. Reception closes during the day, saw lots of confused backpackers arrive not knowing what they have to do to get in (instructions are in booking confirmation email, I guess people don't read it). All in all pretty good, don't know if it deserves high rating that it gets here (they offer free Internet if you show them a review).

The peolpe and the facitlity were great. Close to all the sites. What I liked the most is how they made all the arrangements for you to get picked up and taken to your activities. It was so easy.

The staff here were fantastic at setting up tours. Very friendly from the moment I arrived till the end of my stay. The Wednesday BBQ and fire show was awesome. Met some great people here and would definitely go back. Convenient location behind the shopping centre too.

We absolutely loved our stay at dreamtime! The staff there is all super friendly and helpful and the theme nights were an appreciated way to meet fellow travelers. We will be back to visit Cairns again and we will most definitely stay here!

We LOVED it at Dreamtime! The staff was so helpful and friendly! Close enough to walk anywhere, and every night there was something different happening that they had planned.

Really chill hostel wich is quiet hard to find in town, you can feel that managers are travellers, its a really good hostel and really beautiful.

Despite Hostelworld's system booking us in to a double instead of a twin, the guy on reception sorted it out promptly, and gave us some free wifi time (although this doesnt work at the back of the property where our room was) really helpful, clean, no bugs or creepy crawlies, great showers, would definitely visit again.

I thought this was a brilliant hostel but I'm not convinced they are the best agents for bargin travel and tours. I would check offers in town before booking with Dreamtime.
