The people who work here are phenomenal. Milka has a beautiful soul and makes long term travelers feel at home and appreciated. We loved our stay here!
Was a great place to stay as the owners were very welcoming and took time out to explain about the hostel and the surrounding area and things to see and do in Dubronvik. Great value for money as it was very clean and secure. felt at home and the cooked breakfast was very tasty and The owners have great concern for their guests and wanted everyone to feel welcome and enjoy themselves. Would stay there again as it was a very friendly hostel.
We stayed here for four nights, it was a good location, had clean rooms and a good common room with a kitchen. The family who runs it were seened super nice and hospitable. But we felt that they were very money oriented and not genuine. Two examples being, we were charged an extra night at a higher rate with no explanation and offered a ride and told afterwards that we would have to pay the same amount as a bus ride.
family run hostel. free pick up from bus station didnt happen, got 2 free samples of rakia on 1st day. wasnt complaining. wifi was a bit hit and miss, but the owner was LOVELY! breakfast is a must. the lady doesn"t want you to stop eating. is a little journey to the old town, but supermarkets and atms are nearby. watched the Croatia match whilst trying local food snacks made by the owner. the sons were friendly aswell.
Good family run hostel. Breakfast with Milka and the gang is a highlight. Wifi was hit and miss but honestly it's really not that big a problem. Nice social area and the dorms are roomy.
What brings people here is the atmosphere. The common rooms, especially outside, make for a great place to hang out, get to know hostellers and have a beer. The staff makes amazing breakfast in the morning (French toast and eggs). The weakness here was the air quality and humidity in the dorm downstairs. It wasn't exactly the best for me. People with asthma may have a second thought about the dorm in this place.
Milka, Dobre and family were great! Very easy to meet people over coffee, eggs, and the best part - Milka's famous French toast!!! From the moment they picked me up from the ferry, I felt welcomed. They are wonderful people. Location is great very easy to get to old town. Rooms are spacious. Showers are hot. You gotta book this place NOW!
Helpful staff n I really the atmosphere there, i had extend for one more night am total stayed for 4 night. the location slightly far from old town, have to walk around 30minutes but anyway you can get 5minutes bus to reach if you don't like to walk
Hostel was slightly far from old city ( even tho only 20mins In a bus it was still at the other end of Dubrovnik. Bus or cab. Too far to walk home. Staff were ok. Very pushy didn't like to take no for an answer. The wifi never worked and the kitchen was small and not the easiest thing to work in when there are like 20 other people staying. I personally probably wouldn't stay here again. But it's nice for a night or two. Bit expensive for what you get I think
Really lovely stay and lovely family. Hostel is about 3k from old town which means the prices are lower and you see more of the city. Would recommend to all. Thanks.
such kind and helpful family and staff were ace as well. the cooked breakfast was a treat and the french toast is unreal. easy enough to get to the old town with a bus so fact its a bit of a walk is not a problem
had the best weeklong stay here. the family that runs the hostel is so sweet and helpful and their hired staff is also lovely! I cannot say enough good things! it's so close to the bus stop to old town, near anything you might need, extremely clean but the best part is the amazing hospitality you will get from the moment you are picked up from the bus station. loved DBC if you don't stay here you stayed in the wrong place! best hostel in Dubrovnik! :D
The Croatian family was nice, the breakfast lovely and the tour operated by the hostel was unique and unforgettable. One of the best hostels I've ever been to!
Family-run hostel, and a brilliant family too. welcoming, everything is simple and made easy for you. good, if a bit small, lockers and good luggage room, kitchen, social are (inside and out) and showers. everything perfect, and good breakfast from Milka! Very sociable hostel, met lots of new friends. Outside area brilliant for meeting people and having a great time, but also 10pm curfew is enforced to respect neighbours and those earlier to bed. 30min walk to old town but easy bus, Great stay.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They gave excellent advice in terms of getting around Dubrovnik, recommendations, etc.. They picked us up from the bus terminal which made our arrival very easy. It was very clean and the rooms were in good condition. I really enjoyed my stay here!

Overall good. I thought the location was really good - it's not in the Old Town, but I wouldn't recommend staying there anyway because it's overpriced and there's not much to see there to make it worth sleeping there. Facilities and staff were very good, and there was a social atmosphere. Really appreciated the staff enforcing the Quiet rules, as I was staying in a dorm room close to the kitchen/porch. Heard really good things about the day trips though I didn't go on one myself.
Lovely Hostel! The staff are so friendly and welcome you as if you are family. Met some amazing people in the common area which includes computers, kitchen and a lounge area with a projector for movies. Strongly recommend doing the day trip on the boat- it is stunning and fun, and helps you get to know others staying at the hostel.
Lovely hostel with friendly family who are very welcoming and will pick you up on arrival. Clean, tidy but a little noisey if in a dorm on the ground floor.
I have been travelling solo for 2 months and have never bothered to write reviews. But after staying at this hostel, I felt that I needed to write and let everyone know how amazing this place is. It is a hostel run by family. They treat you
A really wonderful stay - the hospitality was the best ever. I was made to feel so welcome and feel like a very valued guest. Milka's breakfast was fantastic and a great way to meet the other guests. The free pick up from the ferry port was awesome and getting local buses to the town was not a problem at all. I would definitely stay here again and is much better than staying at any hotel. Thank you to everyone at DBC.
