Owner was very friendly and it's easy to meet people. No lockers are available and no hostel keys are needed so security isn't high (though the location isn't dangerous). Only one combined toilet/shower for all 20 beds! Kitchen facilities are really minimal. I enjoyed my stay here though! The biggest thing for me was that it's pretty far out- an hour walk from old town, 25-30 from the bus station. There's a pool, but I didn't use it as Dubrovnik is on the coast so you can just go there instead.

This is a nice hostel (with a pool!), the atmosphere is good, but there are no lockers and no working kitchen... Still enjoyed the stay though.

Had a lovely stay at Villa Valjalo. Djuro is a great host, very polite and helpful. Pool is lovely. Apartment had everything we needed and lovely views. It's a bit of a trek into Dubrovnik old town, the bus stop is between a 5 and 10 minute walk away, the bus is incredibly busy and takes around 15 minutes to get there which when it's 30 degrees is not fun but it was ok.Lapad itself has plenty of bars and restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Would recommend staying here, great value for money.

The hostel is about a 30-40 minute walk to the old city, but it is really near a beach and it is nice to be in a different part of Dubrovnik that you might not see if you stay in the center. The dorm is seperated into two rooms with a kitchenette for everyone to use in one part. It is peaceful, not noisy and has a pool. It is a bit hard to have just one bathroom, but it's never too busy. Definitely recommended based on price and calm ambiance.

The hostels itself is really good! - the rooms are exactly what you need them to be! There's a good eating area outside to meet other travellers (only downside is you had to turn the lights off at 11) My only negative point would be there's ONE bathroom between the 20 guests staying! Which isn't the biggest or the cleanest of bathrooms! Saying that I'd definitely stay here again! The fiends we made in the 4 days was worth the bathroom issue! Overall good hostel

The room was good with a queen bed, the view was amazing from the balcony. It is located near the port which is a short bus trip to the old town which costs 30kuna (4euro) for a day pass. the host was very nice helped us with directions and brought us a juice every morning.

Stayed here for two nights and had an amazing time (20 person dorm). The dorm is actually split into two rooms. One sleeps 6 and the other 14. No kitchen, but there is a barbecue near the pool. Tons of restaurants and grocery stores near by. Short bus ride (No. 6) into Old Town or walk it (30 min). The wifi doesn't work very well in the dorms. The directions to this place seemed strange, but if you follow them you should find the place quite easily. Table and chairs outside the dorm too.

We had a good stay, and while it is not the most central hostel, it is in a nice quiet area, walking distance to beaches, restaurants and buses to central Dubrovnik. I didn't like how there were no keys to the rooms, but we left our valuables with the staff to keep safe. All in all it is a good affordable hostel with minimal facilities, but in Dubrovnik you only need the hostel for sleeping as you should be swimming and exploring throughout the day.
