Great Hostel! And Dory who runs the hostel... wow what a legend! Goes out of his way to make his guests happy. Even brought us all fresh bakey desserts. Very helpful with things to do around the area or even at our next destination. Colourful hostel, with a handy bar and pool table and a massive communal kitchen. Greymouth is average but if youre passing through, id say stay here :)

I was lucky to be upgraded to my own room as it was quiet on a Sunday night. Nice place to stay, nice staff but a little strange having to phone to check in & out

Greymouth doesn't have much to offer but a stopover during your trip down or up the westcoast, but this hostel is a great place to take a night's break. The owner is really friendly, kitchen quite well equipped. Ensuite room was quite nice too. Internet: 30 min free/person

This is an odd Hostel, My partner and I may not have been in the Target Demographic however. This is probably a fine place to stay for the 18 year old backpacker crowd, but if you're a little older, i'd probably recommend looking elsewhere. And if possible, I'd highly recommend staying in Hokitika or even Westport rather than Greymouth.

All Good. The owner even lent me a cycle free of charge since I had only a few hours before catching the bus. 10/10 a very good stay here. Oh, and free soup at night!

Dory was great and makes you feel so welcome. Such a wonderful stay and will definitely return if we are ever in Greymouth again.

Don't be put off by the psychedelic colour scheme - this is a great place to stay. Our host Dory could not have been more welcoming, while the facilities were spot on. Great kitchen and communal areas, comfortable and clean room!

The staff was so friendly and helpful! We wanted the best fish and chips in town and man did we get them! They directed us NOT to a touristy place, but a local takeaways place that was by far the best I had during my whole 5 week stay all over NZ. Amazing.
