Could not be more central. Very friendly and helpful staff. Spiral stairs / steps could be a problem after a good night out though..............

Only stayed for one night, but no complaints here. Location in the nucleus of nightlife and near airport bus, lockers, 24h reception, free wifi, big social space in the cellar... the dorm was a bit claustrophobic, but then again, it's mad cheap. Go for it

Really interesting building in an excellent position. Staff were very helpful - once we'd tracked them down! Would definitely stay again.

I had a wonderful stay at Dundee Backpackers. We had a private room with an ensuite for a very good price. The kitchen was clean, welcoming and had everything we needed. The hostel staff were all very friendly and helpful, one changed our room from a double to twin (which we thought were sold out) without us needing to ask. The hostel was quieter than most I've stayed in, which was ideal as I was working long days while visiting. Bathroom v. clean and shower v. Good!

If you have a valid reason to visit Dundee, then this hostel is a good choice. The only things I would change are the fact that the dining room was too small to accomodate everyone, and the fact that there were messages such as "don't steal other people's food" everywhere. They were all over the place, and it made me wonder whether my food was safe in the fridge. However, the beds were extremely comfortable, everything was clean, and the woman at the reception was very nice with my friends and I

I was a bit disappointed for not having any meal, but fortunately the kitchen was well equipped. I also missed a TV from our own roome, there was only one in a TV room, but everything else was perfect.

One member of staff was very abrupt in her manner.

We had a rather disrupted night - there was a drunken or argumentative woman talking loudly until the early hours in the road at the back, and then a lot of noise from the driver of an articulated lorry starting at 6am. I know these are outside the control of the hostel. However, as a stopover on the way north, Dundee Backpackers served our purpose fine, and the city looks like it would be worth revisiting. Hostel conversion from old buildings is a very characterful one, and well documented.

Down to earth, easy accessible personnel. Beautifully located in the heart of Dundee. Compared to several other hostels throughout Europe I visited, this is one of the cleanest I've stayed over at. Also the price, not unimportant, is low for the overall quality one receives in return.
