Way too many rules and threats of 'fines of up to $1000' for blocking the toilet haha. This place has no atmosphere and is not conducive to the usual social experience of staying in a hostel. Staff are robotic and patronising. This could be the most over-rated hostel I've ever stayed at.

This was my first time in a hostel and I'd say it was a good experience. The shower situation was a bit awkward but the hostel was clean, the employees were friendly and helpful, and the location was close to tourist attractions. If you have a rental car like I did, parking on the street is a huge pain. The biggest downside is the noisy and rambunctious Latin club/bar next door. I saw fights break out, the music is always loud, and beer bottles get broken. Pretty bad vibe to have so close by.

At first, I wasn't sure of this place because of the immediate security in the front as you come in, plus the emphasis on all the rules (no worries - they're common sense. No weird ones :)). A few minutes later I was on the couch in the common area, watching hockey and meeting new people. This place really made me think I was crashing at a buddy's place, which is awesome! Super helpful friendly staff too. Only thing - there should be curtains over the shower in the ladies room (and more storage)

The location is very strategic, the white house and the national mall is only about 20 minutes of walk away. There is a supermarket next to the hostel, very convenient. The place is clean and I like the clean towel service, where the clean towel is available 24 hours everyday. I like of the free wifi and the 24 hours check-in system. One of the drawback that I can think of is there is a pub near by that make a lot of noise at night.

I had a great time staying with you. I do have two small recommendations. It would be great if you put up small hooks for the towels next to the shower. There is no good place to put them. An the other thing would be small bed lights. I know it might be a bit against the familiar atmosphere and everybody hangs out together but I had to prepare myself and everything in the dark every morning even though it was already 10am. Cheers ;)

Hostel was very clean and organized. I'd definitely stay here again if I was in the DC area.

Use of internet/computer was good, but no printer available. The bedroom in the basement was a little claustrophobic feeling. Kitchen on 3rd floor was not convenient.

Friends of ours recommended this hostel. They were right ! Staff was very welcoming, helped us with a map to locate the places to go. Between touristic sites and nightlife places, you can almost go anywhere by feet. It was also easy to find a place to park our car freely.

This is a find. The place is clean , affordable, friendly and it is near meseums (20 minutes walk) which I liked to visit. It is also very close (15 minutes walk) to Washington DC's nighlife. It is in a safe area. It has all the accomodations which I hope for a hostel to have.

I really enjoyed my stay at Duo Housing Washington DC: the staff are all so friendly and helpful! The hostel itself is clean and has everything you need, including some very nice common areas. The open atmosphere made it really easy to meet people and get good tips on what to do and see in DC. The location is also very good: walking distance to all the must-see locations. Overall, a wonderful experience and I would recommend this hostel to anyone planning a trip to DC!!

This was my second time staying at Duo and just like my first it was outstanding. Mark and his team of Staff go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. Duo is close to downtown and the the night life top spots which is great. If you are looking for an amazing place to stay in DC Duo is it!! Thank you Mark, Nino, Vanessa, Eric, Omar, Anne, Ryan and Pop Eye xxxx

Hostel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Two things that I did not like and that have never happened before while using Hostelworld - the hostel charged my credit card before I arrived and they charged an additional 14.5% tax to my booking. This tax is listed in the "things to note" section but I did not even notice and previously the price listed has always been the price I paid.

Stayed here ok a quick trip to DC. Great location, a ten minute walk to Pennsylvania ave, museums, walkable to monuments. Clean, inviting, and safe. Glad we stayed here!

Perfect location for the true DC tourist. This location offered everything needed for a cozy stay. Do recommend setting up some air freshners in the entry, since all shoes are kept there. Can be a bit stuffy an smelly, not the best first impression. Overall two thumbs up.

Although we only stayed for one night, I was very happy that we chose DUO housing. It was really apparent that DUO housing is an experienced hostel and that really made a difference. The information the staff provided us was invaluable. They genuinely cared about making our stay there and our overall visit to DC a positive and memorable one. We also appreciated the straight-forward rules which were thoughtfully designed with the tenants in mind. Keep up the good work and thank you!!

Everything was very clean! Private bathrooms (one on each floor) and communal bathrooms (on the 1st floor) were all well maintained with hot water for showers. They have two great patios outside. Most guests who were there at the time of my stay were relatively young (in their 20s and 30s) and very respectful. I didn't feel like my stuff was going to get stolen. There are lockers (like 12 in x 12 in x 12 in) on the 1st floor and basically what are file cabinets secured with locks in the dorms.

Clean and quiet, but I wish the alcohol time was extended to at least 11pm.

The hostel was very good. It was full for the Cherry Blossom Festival but it was very clean and ordered, the price was great. City rental bikes were a couple blocks away from the hostel, which was very convenient to visit the area.
