The people are friendly, the hosts and people running it I found to be helpful and nice, and the place is well taken care of and clean. Some of the rules about noise and lights going out later at night seem to be put in place so everyone can have a pleasant experience.

My stay was absolutely wonderful. Staff are so helpful and welcoming to both myself and my friend . I really liked the homeyness of the hostel.

It's a nice place in a pretty good location. It's clean - mostly due to the zealous enforcement of the no shoes policy. So if that's all you care about, great! Stay here! But. Rooms are substandard, packing in as many beds as you can in tiny, very horrible rooms (4-share has the furnace, no windows and feels a bit like a cupboard). There is no life in this hostel, it's very much a place to sleep.

Had a fantastic time and the hospitality was great. One of the staffers even made brownies at midnight.

I enjoyed my stay on the most part. But I needed to print out an amtrack train boarding pass and it was 10.30pm at night as my train left at 3am. I kindly asked one of the staff members if I could print out 1x black and white page, while at the same time offering her money. She refused and made me walk when it was below zero 15 minutes each way when there clearly was a printer right there. Printing seems like a pretty basic service to provide travellers. The space was also frustratingly small.

A great hostel for an excellent price. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly and location is great- a 5 min walk to the metro and an easy, safe 15 minute to the heart of downtown. The bathrooms and kitchen facilities were cleaner than your average hostel. The common areas are small, but I spoke with more people than I typically do which made for an enjoyable solo stay. I would definitely stay here again. Much more than I was expecting from the cheapest beds in town!

Great place, everyone was super friendly and the location is near enough to get around to most landmarks during the day and clubs at night.

Super friendly staff - some of the nicest people I've met at hostels. The rooms were surprisingly quiet taking into consideration how many people you share it with! Great common areas and nice facilities - I would recommend this hostel to anyone travelling in DC :)

I enjoyed my stay here, the owner dude was a fun character and had plenty of good tips. There are a couple rules that from the reviews seem to annoy some people but I thought they were just a formalisation of courtesy- minimise shower time, lights off by a certain time at night etc. Washington is great! Go forth and learn things

The wifi was not that good, I had a hard time trying to connect to it. I think they should do something about the hot water, because it is not good that you might have to take a cold shower because at some point the hot water is over.

Pretty good place, about a 20 minute walk from everything there is to see and do in Washington DC. Lots of rules around the hostel but nothing out of the ordinary. Pretty good common facilities, rooms were tidy and well-maintained, and the place seemed to attract quality travellers. Friendly and helpful staff across the board, which is always a good start. Well worth the money and yep I would stay there again.

Very small common area. So many many rules. I like the black girl in the reception, very nice. And I don't like the guy called Mark.

The place has a great location, the bathrooms are clean as well as the dorms. The staff is really helpful i love all the explanations and tips when we arrived. The only thing that we didn't liked was that there are several rules pasted everywhere with all the payments penalties (ex. Leave your dishes w/o washing = 1 night, clog the toilet = up to 1,000 USD, etc), so even though rules need to be follow... You feel uncomfortable. Also before checking-in you need to sign that you accept the rules,

Quite an interesting place. The staff were amazing! So helpful with everything and made some excellent pancakes! Staff went a bit further to make sure our stay was good. The no shoes thing was a bit worrying to begin with but ended up being fine! Great location, close enough to the main tourist attractions and good food. Would definitely stay again!

this is not very good hostel. the staffs tried to save money in every corner and the room is too small and not worthwhile for the rent they charge. the kitchen and common place is so small. everything is crammed in small space. there are only a few restrooms and the 12-bed room is quite smelly.

Good value hostel with friendly entertaining staff. Safe and clean, it is a perfect place to chill out and socialize with people in the common areas or during the delicious free breakfast.
