This hostel was very clean, cosy, surprisingly neat, helpful and friendly crew. My friend and I had a great time at this nice place and I would definitely recommend it. However, they could upgrade their facilities by providing free breakfast as many other hostels do so (not only coffee or tea).

Had a really good time here, it's pretty close to all the sights and a great place to come home to. Would defiantly stay here again.

Great hostel. Clean and friendly, some what extensive list of rules but they do contribute to make it a safer, cleaner happier hostel so no complaints. Walking distance to all the monuments and everything I wanted to see. Highly recommend.

I you stay here prepare for a lot of rules and regulations. After the inially 30 minute induction you feel like your staying in a school dormerary. The staff are friendly, it's is a great location and is clean however the staff are jobs worthy when it comes to enforcing the rules! If your wanting some place to have fun with new people I would not stay here.

I really don't understand how this hotel was elected best hostel in DC. The showers are all located in the same bathroom so you are forced to shower in front of 6 others and there is no lock on the bathroom so basically anyone can walk right in from the common room. The staff is really friendly but the hostel has really strict rules on everything and there are warnings posted all over the place with the penalties that you have to pay if you break any of them so you don't feel very welcome at all

The people are friendly, the hosts and people running it I found to be helpful and nice, and the place is well taken care of and clean. Some of the rules about noise and lights going out later at night seem to be put in place so everyone can have a pleasant experience.

Really nice staff, very welcoming and helpful. No drinking on site after 10pm is a little strict. Can be noisy on fri/sat/sun night due to club next door but apart from that a really great place to stay in a great location for a good price!

It's a nice place in a pretty good location. It's clean - mostly due to the zealous enforcement of the no shoes policy. So if that's all you care about, great! Stay here! But. Rooms are substandard, packing in as many beds as you can in tiny, very horrible rooms (4-share has the furnace, no windows and feels a bit like a cupboard). There is no life in this hostel, it's very much a place to sleep.

I enjoyed my stay on the most part. But I needed to print out an amtrack train boarding pass and it was 10.30pm at night as my train left at 3am. I kindly asked one of the staff members if I could print out 1x black and white page, while at the same time offering her money. She refused and made me walk when it was below zero 15 minutes each way when there clearly was a printer right there. Printing seems like a pretty basic service to provide travellers. The space was also frustratingly small.

A great hostel for an excellent price. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly and location is great- a 5 min walk to the metro and an easy, safe 15 minute to the heart of downtown. The bathrooms and kitchen facilities were cleaner than your average hostel. The common areas are small, but I spoke with more people than I typically do which made for an enjoyable solo stay. I would definitely stay here again. Much more than I was expecting from the cheapest beds in town!

Great place, everyone was super friendly and the location is near enough to get around to most landmarks during the day and clubs at night.

Super friendly staff - some of the nicest people I've met at hostels. The rooms were surprisingly quiet taking into consideration how many people you share it with! Great common areas and nice facilities - I would recommend this hostel to anyone travelling in DC :)
