The room was quite hot for me, and some staffs were not really friendly. Rather than that, the hostel was fine.

The location of the hostel is perfectly fine. I walked all the way from Arlington cemetary to the hostel via the monuments, and if you walk a bit up north from the hostel, you have U street, where you can find bars. There is a supermarket 2 doors up, and a kitchen you can use in the hostel. Breakfast was not interesting: only pancakes, but it works. I stayed in a room with no fresh air, as there were no windows, but the beds were comfy. If you enjoy warm water, don't be the last one to shower..

The rules were given in a very weird way. It hasn't a true hostel atmosphere.

The staff was very weird, I asked to turn down the AC (in December!!!!) he didn't believe me that it was fuckin cold in our room. The atmosphere is strange, I felt under par in this hostel.

Hostel was very clean. It was very odd though. We could overlook having to take your shoes off before you go inside. But the other rules where more like you were still in high school. We wee told we had to turn the light off at 11 as people were sleeping although our room was all awake and chatting. Then the door was tied open so everyone that walked down could see into the room which is uncomfortable when you are trying to sleep then we we asked to untie the door we were not allowed.

In general its a great, friendly, ancd clean place to stay in DC. I met a lot of people and I had lots of fun, since it has common areas where you can share with other guests (I recommend the terrace). It's a little far from the Washington Mall, however it's still being at a walking distance from it. The problem is that it has too many rules to follow, some of them a little weird, but I would choose it again if I went to Washington DC again.

it left me a great image in my first stay at a hostel. All staffs are enthusiastic to help, especially Mike. The environment there is wonderful to make friends.

I enjoyed my two nights here. It was quite at night and everything was very clean. The staff does a great job at making sure you are happy, which in return means a good review for the hostel.

Thanks for the teacher discount. It is rare that people take the time to thank teachers and I appreciate it.

The first couple of nights I thought this hostel lacked a bit in atmosphere. Alot of people were mostly just staying in their rooms. But the last night was good fun with people having a few drinks in the kitchen. I thought it strange that you have to take off your shoes before entering, but this seems to be the norm in DC. It's in a good location and easy to get around.
