We didn't much research the place before hand, but when we got there and it was accommodation above a pub, we got excited. Turns out it wasn't as friendly as your typical irish pub(I know I live in Ireland) Overall the place was good, but head out to find some people to party with.. you won't find many at the hostel or downstairs in the pub.

The hostel is great, but the bathrooms are very very small!! But they are clean and inside the room... They have free breakfast wich is great and a lot of discouts in the bar. Very helpful staff! Is noisy, so only go if you want to party and enjoy the nightlife. The location is great, near the nightlife and the train station. There are trans for everywhere in town just a few minutes walk.

Warm & sweet staff. Alex, the receptionist, strives to make the guests feel welcome and valued. Excellent location. Very close to Centraal Station and Dam Square. Good food and incredibly tasty cheese. Tall people be aware! The bed was a little uncomfortable and room far to small for 6 beds in it.

It was a great Hostel regarding location, free breakfast, price, and cleanliness. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. It was difficult to move about the bedrooms, there just wasn't enough room. I am a light packer and I don't require a lot of space, but coming in at night, it was difficult not to wake the others up because your locker door would be right in their face. I also wish there was a community area (other than the bar) to hang out & meet people in.

After staying at another hostel in central Amsterdam, Durty Nelly's was a huge upgrade and a pleasant surprise. There is an Irish pub/restaurant located on the bottom floor, which makes meeting people incredibly easy if you're traveling alone. The staff/bartenders are all very friendly and helpful, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Really great place and would definitely stay here upon returning. Many thanks!

Great hostel that I've been to before on several occasions, in the perfect location whether you want a canal trip or to visit a coffee shop. Friendly helpful staff, very clean accomodation, great music...go on, visit the coolest city in the world and visit the coolest hostel in the Dam'.

I never felt so welcome in a hostel before as I felt in Nellys Inn! The staff is just amazing. They are all so friendly and charismatic. The place is near from everything and the food is just amazing there. Is a place to have fun or to rest, to feel comfortable or to party! I can't wait to get back there!

Sleezy guys at the bar which made me feel rather unsafe. Small rooms. Need small reading lights for beds and for the mirror/sink area seeing as there is no mirror in the bathroom - awkward if everyone else in the room wants to sleep-in in the morning. Helpful staff. Breakfast ok.

Everything was good. I do suggest you bring ear plugs. It's a party town so naturally there are people in the street & even down in the bar partying , i.e. noisy , time. Or just go down & join them---who needs sleep? I'm 64 so I was in with people much younger than me but just being an old hippy I think we all related well.

I don't understand the fuss over this place. The rooms are terribly small (even for Amsterdam) & there are no basic things like power outlets, reading lights in the bunks, or a safe and quiet place to do work/chill out. There is only the bar downstairs blasting music and tourists drinking. The toilets are inside the tiny rooms and you can hear EVERYTHING. If you're coming to party and only need a bed to sleep in, this might be up your alley. Warm & sweet staff.

Clean and friendly staff. As a single traveller it was hard to break the ice and meet fellow travellers.

I really didn't like the way the shower was. The separate shower room had no place for you to change without getting your clothe wet.

By far one of the best hostel i have stayed in Amsterdam. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Excellent location, walking distance to Central station, Dam square and many other attractions. Will stay again.
