A very nice place. Well located, has a nice friendly communal atmosphere, a free breakfast and internet, good hot showers, and dark rooms. It has a small kitchen and dining area, but unless everyone cooks, not a problem. Must mention Paulo, who is one of the reasons the place works so well, he's very friendly , organises a weekly barbecue, sorts out stuff if you need it, and is very good to have a chat with in the evening. They are expanding, so lets hope they retain the feel.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. Location is nice, has grocery stores nearby, and the philosophy of conservation is great. Internet is fast.

At last a rather quiet place where it is good to stay. Hot water 24 hours, free breakfast, friendly staff... I recommend this place. It is rather close to the city center. The beds are laaarge. The showers could be a bit cleaner, but it is definitely the other's fault, you know, the ones who forget that everybody will need to have a shower after them... The smoking point is comfy, with benches and pillows and even a hammock. I am still there, by the way ;-)

I really enjoyed staying here, staff are so friendlt and helpful and it was quite enough for me to sleep off my jet lag. I met lots of travelers who like the staff were all smiles and full of helpful unformation.I will highly recommend Eco Hostel!!!

Great hostel, just a bit of a communication error let us down as we wanted to stay a little longer than booked on here.
Having said that we met some v cool people and staff were helpful in finding stuff to do. Would recommend...just make sure you are clear how long you are staying for! :)

We found the hostel very pleasant but freezing at night although there are plenty of blankets provided. We had room 8 and the bed was noisy but didn´t keep us awake.

The hostel itself is good. However the bed (in room 8)was so noisy that anytime my husband or I moved we both woke up, so we did not sleep well at all. For that reason I would not be able to recomend it.

Eco Hostel is an excellent sleepy little Hostel, a great place to relax and chill out after a busy day in the city, but if you are looking for a party centre this probably isn't for you. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. I will be staying here again when I return to Santiago.
