that the water near the bathroom is undrinkable is unfortunate.

Gorgeous spacious boat on the canal with clean facilities. Cute idea that works really well. Beautiful showers. Enjoyed the breakfast too! It is a little walk to town but it is worth it for the atmosphere on the canal. I only stayed one night but wish I could have stayed longer. Thanks for a beautiful stay!

It's very special to stay on a boat for a night!! But a little bit far to the bus station. All in all, it's a good stay!

Everything was excellent. Unique atmosphere and welcoming place. Best hostel i have ever stayed in! Very clean and breakfast was excellent, although not extreme variety but very good, expecially for a hostel. If you go to Gent, that is the best place to stay, book well in advance!

I enjoyed the hostel vey much. It was unusual, interesting, clean and relaxed. The beds were the most comfortable of any hostel I have been in. My only suggestion would be for the proprietors to be more open to interaction beyond a perfunctory level. For example, simply introducing themselves would contribute significantly to the ambiance.

The only disappointment was with the staff. They both acted like they couldn't care less. They did not smile and were not welcoming in the least. Breakfast was set up late with not one word spoken. We did not know how to use the coffee maker and had a hard time even rousing the staff to show us how it worked. The woman acted irritated and was completely unhospitable. All of us guests felt uncomfortable. The occomadations were cute but the staff was far from congenial. Won't be back.

Liselot is a fantastic host! She really goes the extra mile for guests! The whole place exudes charm and conscientiousness. The only environmental critique I have, is that many of the products from breakfast, while fair trade, are sourced far from Belgium, which means a positive economic impact, but reduced positive environmental impact. Beds were comfortable. The beer cooler was stocked with excellent choices at very reasonable prices. We enjoyed our night here, and would definitely stay again.

I thought this hostel was awesome! It was so unique to get to spend the night on a house boat on a canal in belgium! The only downside was the fact that it was a pretty far walk out from city center and the directions on their page on how to get there arent very good. The facilities were amazing, the best showers and bathrooms ive had during my trip across europe! The rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly.

aThis hostel is amazing. I was a bit dubious about it being on a boat, but it is by far one of the nicest and cleanest hostels I have stayed at. Included breakfast was nice, and the showers were absolutely amazing.

I cant stress how great this place is. The quaint fridge magnets adorning the wall; the cat that slinks contently around you as you sip a few (admittedly bloody strong) beers on deck; the relaxed atmosphere and owners; WONDERFULLY KEPT TOILETS; the location; the value for money...............this place is the best place to stay in Ghent. Loved it!

The atmosphere in the hostel was great and the breakfast was good as well, however a little bit smaller than you imagined. The breakfast was also all organic/eco including the milk etc so be prepared for soy milk. Otherwise nothing else that's negative about the place, a little bit cold outside the room, however this is understandable considering the time of the stay (early April).
