Beautiful, inspiring hostel. Fun staff in a beautiful city. Despite only staying for one night I could have lived at the ecohostel for months.

The novelty of sleeping on a boat was great fun, it was a surprise for my boyfriend and we both enjoyed our stay there. Last week before they closed for the winter, only 4 people staying there so very calm. Since it was December and, again, it's on a barge (long river boat) the temperatures were quite "brrrr...", especially walking to and from the showers/toilets. Other than that everything was clean, and the little common room was very welcoming: books, maps... Best place to stay in Ghent!

It's a boat! Hehe, staff is nice and beds are ok, it has a common room with some games and it's clean, showers very good. The only but is it's cold in the corridors and a bit in the room, nothing that good company can not manage (or a blanket, of course ;)

Very friendly owners put a lot of nice touches into the decor and amenities on this BOAT: the small private rooms have quirky decorations, there's an honor bar with Belgian beers in the fridge, individual showers, extremely clean, good breakfast, friendly dog & cat. It's a tad further out of town, but worth it for the boat (plus, Gent is small and it's near a tram line). We were there on a quiet night, but it seems like it would be social and friendly if more people were around. Great place!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Actually has a homey feel in the nice lounge/common room area with couches and tea but best of all, smallish so that it's almost impossible to not greet people there. Showers are great, good beds and what's more, it's a boat :D

Cool setting (on a boat! How cool more can you get for a hostel?), clean, very homey and comfortable. It's the best hotel I've stayed so far and i've stayed more than a dozen including some etap hotels this trip alone. Only comment is that the hostel should mention that they're a boat on a river in their description. As it was not immediately obvious, it was difficult to find for such a good location.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and readily available bathrooms, nice showers. Everything seems very new and the interior is cozy and funky. The location is a little bit out of the way, but if you utilize the trams, it's not a problem. Definitely worth it.

Location molto originale... pure troppo!

This is a very cool hostel! I would certainly recommend it. The bed and pillow were comfortable and it was quiet at night. The hostel is also only 10-15min walking distance from the city center.

Overall, I really enjoyed staying at this hostel. The fact that it was on a boat was really cool, and it was clean and quiet. I thought it had a great deal of character. My only cons would be that there wasn't anywhere to cook-they do have a little fridge and microwave...and the location was a little far from the city center and the walk felt a little uneasy at night time. Having said that, however, I'd stay here again and I'd reccommend it to friends.

AMAZING! For those of you who aren't reading the description and only the reviews like I did - IT IS ON A BOAT!! This is by far the best hostel I've stayed in (I've done at least 7 now). The hostel had a great atmosphere and was very relaxed. It wasn't far from downtown and I have nothing bad to say about it at all. I will recommend this hostel to everyone I meet and hopefully return one day too!

Very special hostel. The position could be a little better, but it's literally 10 min walk from Gent city center. The owner has a sweet dog and cat living free around the hostel. I like animals and I do not have any allergies, but it could be an issue for some people.
