A really nice little hostel with a fantastic atmosphere! The bed in my mixed dorm had a fantastic mattress, probably the best I've had in a hostel, and the breakfast options were really great. It is only a short flat walk from the tram and it doesn't take long to walk into the city centre. Would really recommend.

Quirky and interesting. As old greens we felt there were improvements that could be made; for example permaculture roof garden/insulation , but the barge and crew are well on the way. The bed was comfortable, the room clean and unfussy. The lavatories smelled a bit rough but were actually pretty clean, however the one hand towel at the basin remained unchanged for two days. The press-button showers are a good idea. Breakfast and beverages were simple and good quality. Lisalotte was friendly.

This is a great place to stay, pretty close to the main area, with an excellent breakfast and showers that have no business being as nice as they are for a hostel. Highly recommended.

One of the best hostels that I have stayed so far in. Living on the boat was a wonderful experience and the creators were very thoughtful in outfitting this boat. Recycled water, Eco food. Totally loved the concept. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit Gent

We LOVED staying at this hostel! Everything was really laid back and had a great vibe to it. The owners were really friendly :) Look at the book they have in the kitchen/ common room of the ideas of the boat before they started renovating it. If I ever go back to Gent I will definitely stay here!

I would like to recomend that place for people who may travel with friends, it is more comfortable the rooms for 8 or 6 persons if you know each other better, anyways the place is very nice and friendly. Very positiv!!!!

a very nice experience to stay on a boat house :) Thanks for warm hospitality. not a long walk to the old-town, reachable by tram from train station with a short walk, and walking in Ghent is nice especially along the path under the chestnut trees!

It's a boat! With a really great atmosphere. Clean, amazing water pressure in the showers, free wifi. Nice breakfast. Definitely stay here for the experience and the character of the place.

best hostel i have ever stayed in. met a lot of cool people, the people that run it are friendly and helpful. the beds are super comfy and it was extremely clean. good breakfast. big showers. the noise from the common room doesnt transfer at all to the bed rooms. wifi good, but only really connects in common room. dog was sweet too.

This was a great hostel - we thought it amongst the best in Europe. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and shown through the very impressive houseboat, there were super comfy mattresses, pillows and duvets and a good sized common room with internet and games which made it easy to chill out and meet other guests. Would definitely recommend this hostel, we had a great time. Will hopefully be back some time.

A little difficult to locate especially at night. A bit far from the city centre (about 15 min walk). With such a high rating on hostelworld.com I thought it would be great but I was significantly let down with my stay. The owners could have been a little friendlier, helpul and accomodating.

It was a unique and unforgettable three nights at the Ecohostel. The way the boat is outfitted is thoughtful and efficient, not to mention clean and comfortable. Great friendships were made and the city of Ghent is a hidden treasure. You can't beat the Andromeda when it comes to free inclusions (tasty breakfast, linens, wifi) and an all-around awesome experience.

Staying on a boat on a canal in Belgium...so COOL! A bit far away from the city centre but you can use a tram to get around. Lots of spiders on the boat, if that bothers you. Really nice people there, great fellow travelers, free breakfast and coffee in the morning, free lockers, free wi-fi. Beer fridge in the basement, though a little pricey. Would highly recommend, Ghent is also a very relaxing and non-touristy area.

A hostel that's a boat, can't go wrong! Friendly staff, a clean and relaxed environment. Slightly out of the way location wise to Ghent, however it wasn't far to walk, and the tram links were also very useful.

this was a pretty awesome hostel, really different to anywhere i had stayed before. i guess it is a little bit of a walk into town, possibly 15 mins but it's not unpleasant and the tram is near by. the showers and toilets were clean and really good and the beds super comfy. i loved that we stayed on a boat but it was so clean and comfy inside. not a place for party animals as it's very quiet, definitely more suited to sitting with your book and having a cup of tea. a really great hostel.
