On Hostelworld they stated very clear that they are open 24/7. As we arrived at 10pm with our flight I particularly chose this hostel to stay in as there should not be a problem with late arrivals. Nevertheless there was no one at the hostel to check us in. We ended up searching for our room key, found it and decided to check ourselfes in and go to our room. (it was already assigned to us on the whiteboard.) So do not pick this hostel if you arrive late...

We stayed at Eddie's guest house for 3 nights and extended our stay to 4. Place was easy to find. This is a great place for people on a budget, right on the moat, you have access to everything in walking distance. Room is basic, but that was all we wanted. We had a double bed, a fan, a wardrobe, shelves and our own bathroom. We needed to stay later than needed and check out at 5pm instead of in the morning and Eddie was more than happy to accommodate us! Thank you Eddie!

Everything was ok, great value for money. I recommend.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great place if you want somewhere quiet. There's a tour company that offers great trekking tours right in the guest house compound.

Nothing to complain about :). Rooms are comfortable enough, the staff are ultra-friendly and the guy at the reception has its own travel agency and he arranges very cheap hiking trips, cooking school -- much cheaper than other travel agencies.

You get what you pay for...if you are looking for cheap accommodation that is some what decent then it's fine. The bed was very uncomfortable... You could feel the springs unfortunately and the toilet always smelt. Hot shower though and small outdoor space. Tum who does the tours there speaks pretty ok English and is very friendly and helpful. Good location close to moat yet on a quiet street.

If you find cheapest guest house near old city. You should book here. It is placed soi 1 Chaipoom near Tapae gate. But it is suitable for couple because of only double rooms. Just try then you will be ok.

There were many cockroaches in the hostel, especially in the bathrooms. No A/C, and the staff isn't available after 6pm. But I guess that's what you get for a cheap price.
