Loved, loved, loved this hostel. The woman who owns it is amazing-super nice and helpful. Maybe it was just the timing but I met a ton of fun people during my stay. Hung out on the back terrace, took advantage of the free walking tour and pub crawl that the hostel had connections with. It was my best hostel experience thus far :).

Nice Hostel in a very quiet zone, in a nice street. Still in the traditional architecture part of the city. 10-20min. walking distance from the center of the main tourist sites. The hostel is a traditional narrow Porto house with a beautiful old staircaise, a skylight and a nice back patio - garden. It's not very big so the atmosphere is laid-back and quiet. The family that runs it is nice and helpful and the rooms big. The only downside:not enough toilets. breakfast is basic, but ok.

Had a great stay at Eden House -- trip was in February and the room was freezing (!) but the staff was extremely helpful, location was good, it's easy to get a free walking tour from the hostel (they come and pick you up). Generous free breakfast, too! It wasn't the most social of places, but it wasn't the high season, so I can't really complain about that. Overall, a really nice hostel and I'd recommend it to anyone. Thanks, Eden House!

The owners are the best you can ever get! It is hard to find such helpful people. The location is good and very nice value for the money.

The Eden House is an ideal hostel for people who don't want to spend a lot of money and don't need big luxury. From Trinidade it is a five minutes walk (but uphill!). The staff is really nice, the breakfast is sufficient. The only thing to criticize is that the rooms were not just cold, but frozen, as there were no heaters.
