Very good hostel with excellent atmosphere. I definitely recommend to all those, who want to meet new people and have fun. The location in the city center is briliant. For those who want to reach it by a car - there is no place around for parking it free of charge. But this is, I think, a problem in the whole Edinburgh center. The only problem with a hostel was, that our beds were'nt changed, when we arrived and we had to ask the stuff for a clean sheets.

Our room was in a separate building and didn't offer a cupboard or shelf. The geyser in the shower was dripping so much we were afraid of getting an electric shock, that's why we kept it off and took cold showers. Wifi was only available in the main building and the connection broke down regularly. The kitchen is small and the stoves are super slow. I liked the atmosphere however, a young, dynamic spirit of optimism. And the staff was friendly and helpful too.

Can't fault price and location, but is more of a long term hostel so quite run down, not much atmosphere and the internet is laughable. Staff are nice though.

Good social place to stay with superb location and staff members. If you have a shower you may want to avoid peak times as the hot water runs out with a lot of use, otherwise hard to fault this hostel.

internet sucks, so better you have your own one, the kitchen wasn´t clean and is to small for so many people!, besides the cookers worked badly, staff not always helpful and the peak of all: everywhere was too cold even in May!

Wifi didn't work properly but it had conection troubles frecuently. This hostel has two buildings to stay, but the other one hasn't Wifi conection, so If you want to get a Wifi, you should cross the street and go to the main building to get it. Also Somebody stole my food in the fridge a, so I didn't like about atmosphere. As positive feedback, the location is very good, just in the center of the city. The rooms and bathroom are clean.

I think your staff needs customer service(Hospitality) training ,so that they perform well in their jobs to make guests feel comfortable. The amenities were not fully provided which were promised at the time of booking the hostel.I suggest to stick with your promises in order to bring your guests back again.

Bottom sheets on beds should have been in better condition. Stains evident, even if clean. My room was located in Fleishmarket Close location which was very, very noisy for first half or each night. Location of the hostel was EXCELLENT for proximity to train station, airport shuttle and many sites I wanted to frequent.

This was a good hostel for a weekend away, especially because of the location and the 24 hours reception. The staff was nice and I particularly liked the Southern cross café.

Stayed in mixed 14-bed dorm, people were quiet and kept themselves to themselves which suited me fine, staff at check in desk were friendly and helpful, loos / showers nice and clean each morning (i.e. after cleaning) but could get a bit mucky during the course of the day, as would be expected, beds were clean, but the most important thing for me was that it was cheap and in prime location. Very happy with my stay and would book again!

Overall the stay was ok, my main issue with the hostel is that they charge you to leave your things if you're arriving before check in or wanting to store bags after check out. I've been to Edinburgh many times before and stayed in many different hostels. There are several others that are priced the same and offer that small luxury and have much cleaner toilets.

its a nice hostel, but data protection should be a top priority in all hostels. you dont want people aware of where you are staying before you even take on the accomodationfor security reasons, otherwise its a lovely atmosphere with classy residents

Couldn't have asked for a better location right off the royal mile and right near the bridges to princes st. Kitchen was a bit small for all the guests and hot water was a problem unless you went to the very top to shower. Overall would recommend to anyone wanting to get the full edinburgh experience!

Only two hot showers for women, 4 only icy nearly frozen water BUT i had to wait only once to shower ;) No sink in the private room Cold in the room, we got a heater from the staff Totally in the centre of old town!!! Very very big private room! So much space for us both! No wifi in the upper room. Wifi inthe commonroom very low. Nevertheless, the spot is totally recommendable for travellers who are every day out. Breakfast in southern cross cafe sooo delicious! Reallygood!

The 'poor' rating on cleanliness is solely due to the state of the kitchen - the rooms were fine.
