The hostel was in an excellent location, we couldn't have faulted it. However, we were in a different, "quieter" (as the lady on reception described it) building and the noise was very loud at night as the alleyway next to the windows led to pubs further down so we got woken up at 3am/4am. The inside noise wasn't much better as it sounded like 'a herd of elephants' down the corridor when anyone passed by. There were ear plugs offered but they didn't help. However, the ace location made up for it

Perfect if you have an early morning flight like I did. 2 mins down the road you're on Waverley Bridge. Also because it was off-peak I had a room to myself for one evening even though there were meant to be 5 in my dorm. The staff Waldo helped me charge a few things at reception when my adaptor didn't work. Thanks

Very good. My friend and I stayed in a twin room several days ago. Surprisingly, the room wasn't in the main building of the hostel. It was in a flat just around a corner. A nice place to stay over a night :)

Watch your money with the staff. They ripped me off with the key deposits, when I checked in it was £10 per room key but only £5 when I checked out. Different staff on the front desk, the one who check me in in clearly on the take. The one who check me out didn't want to hear anything about it.

This Hostel really looks like a real Hotel, believe it. The facilities are great, always clean, Breakfast included, and just a 2min walk from a railway station, 2min away from the city centre.

Great location, right in the middle of the old town. Theres 3 different buildings on the street with rooms for the hostel. There is little or no heating in the rooms which obviously isn't ideal for Edinburgh in the winter, that really made the stay uncomfortable as it was freezing in the room. Also the sheets didn't seem to be clean which was very off-putting. The common room is quite comfortable.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel, people were really friendly, and there were lots of people keen to have some drinks and head out. Edinburgh nightlife is cheap! Beds comfy and the facilties were great. I will stay there again next time i visit edinburgh.

I've been in a lot of hostels around europe before and this was on of the best. The location couldn't be better, the staff was so friendly and helpfull, really good people taking care of the hostel and doing their best for guests to have a really good stay and to create a great atmosphere for everyone to feel like at home. Good facilities like wi-fi, kitchen, laundry, lounge, games room... The price and the rooms were not bad either. I would definitely repeat if I had the chance.

I've stayed at Edinburgh backpackers 4 times now in the past 5months . Rooms are tidy and smell fresh and the tv room and games room are a good place to hang out. Staff are really friendly and full of local knowledge ( cheep food, drink and free touristy stuff.) def stay there when I'm back in Edinburgh.

I liked this place a lot, very cool stairs that keeps you fit if you're on the top floor! Basically run by live-in fellow travelers so very chilled. Great location.

It was a nice cheap hostel. My only complaint was that I was awoken by really loud construction work one morning. It was very loud and frustrating. If I had been warned that there might have been noise I would not have minded as much but alas no one warned me.
