Staff were amazing but showers and toilets were not very nice and cold showers for 2 days!! No power socket in dorm room either which was annoying as couldn't charge anything overnight amazing location tho!!

Attitude was appauling from some of the workers, one or two were nice and I will remember them other than that it claims to be a party hostel its far from that the live in staff do not easily warm to the guests not that its a pre-requisite but it would help the guests feel welcome.I made my time there the most of it, for the money it cost the rooms were too small, the kitchen was dirty the common room was fine a tv but not much else going on, the showers were cold after it is Edinburgh!!

All good really. The only minor negative comments I would add are that there could do with being somewhere in the mens showers to put ones things when in the shower, and the pool table was pretty deficient.

I thought the hostel overall was very good. The room of 14 beds I stayed in was okay, with sufficient lockers. The only thing I would say is that there weren't any plugs to charge our phones. We had to get a guy to come look at it, but I'm not sure what happened but we never got an extension lead. We were also not told about hot water times, so when it came to my turn having a shower it was freezing (and I mean freezing). Apart from that it was a pretty good stay.

It wasn't too bad for the money, but you have to pay extra for a lot of things like using the computer. The staff weren't friendly and my roommates were extremely messy. One of the showers wasn't working and the toilets were dirty. The atmosphere in the common rooms wasn't very friendly either.

Our en-suite room was pretty small yet clean. the kettle in corridor was not working and there was not a soap in the room. The location is excellent, very close to all attractions. Good value for money.

The only thing we missed was to have wireless internet available in the room instead of only in the main hostel building (we were in the separate lodgement). Also, light wiring was a little odd with the need to have the lamp in the ceiling .turned on in order for the bathroom light to work (it disturbs the other person when having to turn on the main light if going to the bathroom at night). Apart from this, had a great stay! Thank you!

The hostel is in an excellent location. We usually like to cook in the kitchen of a hostel but the kitchen here didn't seem clean. It was a first to have a tv with DVD player in our room! A definite plus. I would definitely stay here again purely because of the location and the amazing discounted breakfast next door!

Heating didn't work well: it was freezing in the room at night. And the windows let the wind come in the room. But ok for the price it was.

We were upgraded on our arrival from a 14 bed mixed dorm to a 4 bed private room, the room was more than adequate a bit cold but fine for the price we paid. The only reason i have put facilities at poor is because one of the showers didn't provide hot water and had a a drainage issue and there also seemed to be a leak problem in the hallway which resulted in an unpleasant wet carpet under foot. Other than these problems though the hostel was outstanding and well worth the money.

I've stayed in penthouse, twin room num 3. Excellent room with kitchen, double bed and sofa. very specious. I stayed there with my mum one night only and she did like the room also.

The room was very cold! And the heating did not work. And the small portable heater that was in the room exploded almost right away. Otherwise, the room was rather spacious and the double bed (I had a double ensuite room) comfortable. The location is excellent - very central. I would probably stay in this place again, but definitely not in winter.

Overall was ok. Main reason for staying here is the excellent location. Everything else is on par with other hostels.

- : * Very noisy all the night because of the stairwell. (high heels girls / drunk people..) It deserves all the rooms so we couldn't sleep at all. * No ladder to access to the above bed in the room. * Very dirty bathroom : just curtains to separate bath of sinks (no intimity) + : * Very good location, between the station and the Royal Mile * Staff very friendly, arranging and available * Coffee just near the hostel, very convenient for the morning

I usually don't leave negative reviews on hostels at all, but of my 6 month trip this wasn't the greatest hostel. It's absolutely fine if you just need a space to sleep, amazing location! If they just fixed up the cleanliness of the bathrooms and common room that would make a big difference. Probably wouldn't recommend it but if it's your Last resort it's fine

A bit on the dingy side, but a good value.

Nice place, probably would stay there again. Loved that they had lockers in the rooms that you didn't have to pay for (except a deposit). Only annoying thing was that there were NO power outlets in the room.
