could be a good idea, to have a coffe machine, just to have coffe even when the restaurant and bar are closed.

Really great hostel with absolutely clean facilities and nice spacious rooms. It's about a 10 min walk from the city centre/station to get to the hostel and it's easy to find. The breakfast is nice and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a clean and secure place close to the city, the edinburgh central should be your first choice!

So never stayed in a YHA Hostel before. Had a difficulty with the booking, no fault of the staff, but the manager reorganised my booking and I moved room. Big thanks to him for that. However my issue with this hostel is the pricing. I found it really expensive, actually more expensive that some hotels... and that doesn't include breakfast either. The place is spotless and seems quiet new but has no charachter atall and that's why I generally stay in hostels. Wouldn't be enthuased to stay again!

This is my second time staying in this hostel. The room I got is on the 2nd floor and faced to the street where there are bus stations. It is too much noise and we have to keep the window open because there several people. I could not fall asleep because of the noise!!! Apart from that the other is fine.

It would've been nicer if we had have been put with people who were more our own age. We were 21 and put with women in their 40s. The hostel iself was amazing but if I went again I'd make sure that I would get a private room or make sure my party filled the room because we had a snoring old lady in our room that we couldn't even wake to tell her to shh!! And when we complained we weren't given much help.

Good location, great room (fitted 3 people and luggage easily) and breakfast (even though it's not included) was reasonably priced and good.

It was about twenty minutes' walk from city centre or a short bus ride, which ever you choose. Hostel is clean and secirity is good. Water in the shower is definately hot if you want it to be! Staff was okay, but you don't get to feel like home here like you might in a smaller place. But it was worth staying.
