Very dirty everywhere, there was not a single clean cup in the kitchen. Only half of the lockers have keys. The staff: was it really the staff or just people staying in and working to pay their rent to the hostel? Anyway, on the day of my leaving there was nobody in the reception until 10 am, when I left without being returned some change the hostel owed me from the previous day. The door was open all the time, so basically anybody from the large house could come in without being noticed.

I stayed there for two nights and though it was not posted as a party hostel, people (including the owner) were up drinking and playing games until 3am. The next day, the common area was a dump. The place was not clean at all, there was no toilet paper for a while, and the kitchen was dirty too. The person in charge although he is nice, was practicaly never there.

door was always open and receptionist was never there. there was no keys for the rooms. you had to call receptionist and he came with no key for you. he was also not there for the check out. it was not impossible to move there, but bath rooms looked like in a pub. the advantage is definitely it is located in the paralell street to all the night clubs and it's very cheap.

It was really awesome, we spend only one night there, but we would like to spend more time for sure. The entrance is not a big deal, but inside u can feel like it's your own home.

Don't open drawer, don't smell your blanket, don't touch to anything and everything'll be fine. Iy's a good value for money, if you pay more than 3euros per night you get scammed!

Thumbs Up Hostel has got to be the best place to stay in Budapest!! The hostel is set in an apartment spread, which makes it very homey and quaint compared to big crowded hostels. Michael, the hostel's owner, is a great guy : ) So welcoming, funny, and just great for conversation -- always will make sure you are having a fun time in the city. He and the hostel are so laid-back that you feel as if youre just staying at a friends apartment. Thanks Michael!!

Good place for the price it cost, it's not the best hostel I've ever been but it's quite good for the tiny amount of money that I paid
